Fantasy Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Vampire - Part 3

Id say the last 5 or so episodes of s7 is pretty enjoyable minus some bits and pieces.

I've always been sad that Buffy herself never really bounced back to what made me love her so much in s1-5.

eh i guess i have something to look forward to now?
i can't be too mad. it's been off the air what, 15 years now?

You might enjoy S7 better than I did. I think Whedon being stretched thin over running three shows at the same time (his full attention was on "Firefly") affected the overall quality.

I wish SMG had pushed to end the series earlier and on a high note. She looked like she was phoning it in the last two seasons.

I still cry sometimes that we never got this spin-off

This would’ve been epic.

Didn't Eliza turn it down for Tru Calling? I wonder if she ever regrets that. A Faith show almost certainly would have lasted longer, unless it sucked of course. But with Tim Minear running it, I doubt it would have sucked.

I think I did watch Tru Calling back in the day at least for a while; if Eliza really had a choice between TC and a Faith spin off, I'd be shocked if she went with the former.

Then again she always seemed smart, and probably knew that A) the story would just be a mishmash of Buffy S7/Angel's arc and B) S7 didn't exactly leave the fanbase looking for more anyway.

She did! I mean, not gonna lie, Tru Calling was one of my guilty pleasures as a teen, but it would’ve paled to a balls to the wall Faith spinoff.

Could’ve told so many stories.

I kind of get chosing a new show over a spin off. If Tru Calling was a big hit, it would have been a bigger deal for Dushku's career to have something more solely hers than something that branched off of Buffy. I don't think spin-offs are viewed with much prestige generally, and a spin-off isn't likely going to hit any bigger than the shows it spawned from.

That Faith show was going to have Spike in it too if I recall, before he ended up moving to Angel. Could have been fun. I am personally more sad that 'Ripper' never came to pass. Giles dealing with spooks in England sounded cool to me.

I don’t think this is a spoiler for @ComicChick but here goes…

I’m actually pining for that animated series set during the first 3 seasons that never got past the pilot stage. Almost all the original actors (except SMG) did voice work, including Michelle Tractenberg.

It would do gangbusters on something like Netflix or Adult Swim today.

At the recent premiere of Wolf Pack...

update on Angel.

i'm up to the episode of Angel where they bring Angelus back to help them find out a way to stop The Beast, and find out that he's just "the muscle".
Episode ended with Cordy killing Lilah, which i'd totally forgotten about. i really enjoyed her as a villain

i'm on the episode of Buffy where she goes out with Professor Amenadiel, i mean Woods. I've always thought he was pretty handsome, and even back then he was too. i think i like the twist of him being a Slayer's son.

And I’m now in Buffy again and the episode started with a prophetic dream? It made me remember vaguely but was that a side story that never got picked up from the past again. Like I remember the dream with faith which was a prelude to dawn for example.
Also is that one potential from Lizzy McGuire? I’m too lazy to look lol

welp: she just died.

Yep, she was in Lizzy Maguire lol.

They look so good. I gotta check this show out on the strength of SMG.

Marsters definitely aged out of playing Spike in live action. I've seen some of "Bones" and a bit of "Seal Team 6"... David Boreanaz looks long in the tooth to play Angel again too.

SMG looks incredible as always. That said, I would love to see her on something like "Superman & Lois", because she can play straight drama as well as action. "Wolf Pack" is a bit too "I'm kicking supernatural ass but I'm not Buffy or Daphne anymore".

Gotta love James for still trying to smoulder. :oldrazz:

James looks good, don't get me wrong. But you can tell he's aged over the years. Whereas SMG looks only five years removed from the Buffy finale.

Best romance on that show. I said it!

Oh of course. I mean I fell in love with her first as Kendall Hart on All My Children, she was basically Erica Kane Jr.

And while I love Brie Larson, I always in my mind thought she would've been the best Carol Danvers/Ms Marvel in a movie.

If Marvel had been the juggernaut it is in the late 1990s-early 2000s, 100% guarantee they would've offered SMG Captain Marvel. She probably would've turned it down but she would be in the top 2-3 actresses on their list.

Come to think of it, I wonder if a lot more BtVS/Angel alum would've got cast in a MCU film franchise other than Emma Caulfield being in "WandaVision" and "Agatha". And not a bit role like Alexis Denisof (Wesley) got for the first "Avengers" and GOTG.
