Fantasy Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Vampire - Part 3

im on the episode with the parent/teacher conference where Spike first appears. i remember him from Angel, so this'll be fun

Ah yes, Spike was never more fun than in those early seasons of Buffy, imo. But I did enjoy his rapport with Angel on his show, too.

i just can't figure out why this school never got closed down with all these deaths like every week lol
i would transfer districts for sure haha

edit: also, it's nice to see Cordy slowly transitioning into the character i remember from Angel, while still being the slightly shallaw head cheerleader lol

Season 4 Spike is my favorite, but season 5 was close.

I just love it whenever somebody casually mentions their ludicrous death rate as if it's some mild knock against the town, like a poor job market or something. :funny:

Slowly but surely!

Season 4 Spike is my favorite, but season 5 was close.
I just watched the S2 finale and was reminded how pretty much every scene with Spike was absolute gold in that ep. I don't know if I could pick a favorite Spike season. I just know it's one before S6, lol.

[blackout]Now that you're into season 2, I can make fun of some point in the last episode of season 1 without spoiler tag. YAY.

One funny moment in that episode is when Angel tells Xander why he can't give her CPR cause he doesn't breathe, and as he's saying that you see David Boreanaz breathe heavily after a long run. They did not wait enough time to make that line convincing before filming it.[/blackout]

All of you should listen to Buffering the Vampire Slayer. It's a really great podcast that r reviews every episode and they don't spoil things.

Seeing this thread made me realize that even though I've seen all of BTVS, I have never gotten beyond season 3 of Angel. Maybe one day? There is so much I still have to watch. :#

watch it with us!
i'm on episode 4 of season 2 now. it's a weird mummy girl episode lol

Oy, I was not a fan of that episode, lol. Felt very S1.

S4 may be a little difficult to get through (it's very divisive - I actually like it, though), but S5 is DEFINITELY worth it, imo. One of my favorite final seasons of any show.

I thought it was a good character episode and the speculation behind Impata (sp) is/was always interesting.

i just looked at the poll, and no one picked Season 1 lol

Anyone who picks season one never actually liked the show, lol.

Speculation?

do you mean the part where she talks about being the one chosen to protect her village and how it parallels the story of The Slayer? one born in every generation and all that?

Season 1 had a couple of nice episodes and arguably had one of the better big bads so I liked it, I mean I probably wouldn't have continued to watch if it was absolutely awful!

But season 3 and 2 are my favourites with season 5 in at 3rd.

Oh I'm not suggesting no one likes S1, it's just...not gonna be anyone's favorite unless they didn't like what the show became after it. Because S1 just isn't representative of the rest of the show at all.

Yeah. I always thought it'd been interesting if they went that route.

The episode where Spike is introduced in season 2, "School Hard", is one of the shows very best episodes IMO.

are you predicting an episode in particular you think i will enjoy or just that there's great stuff to come? maybe both? :awesome:

Maybe both. As I said earlier, while it's not one of my faves, 2x06 "Halloween" was the first episode that felt like the show I would come to know and love. Lots of good eps follow it too. And after that, well...prepare yourself for a certain two-parter that's not labeled as a two-parter. From there on, it's off to the races. :D

I'm midway through S3 now, btw. Once I get to the good stuff, I just can't stop apparently, lol.

i'm on Halloween
about to start it now

Good timing, lol.

I know you're not gonna skip any, but if I were gonna tell you to skip any this season, it would definitely be "Ted," "Bad Eggs" and "Go Fish." The rest are solid-to-gold from here on out.
