This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]511553[/split]
If it was made for the fans, but critics didn't like it, what about the GA? Is it not made for them? Will they not find the movie a mess and boring and jumbled...saying it's made for the fans is kinda alienating 90% of the GA, at least...by their logic.
The "made for comic fans" is such a terrible excuse. Marvel makes films that both comic fans AND the GA love. It's not a mutually exclusive thing.

What in this movie would the GA not get?

I find it telling that most if not all of the critics that are ****ting on this movie are from the US. International reviews aren't "divisive" despite acknowledging BvS' short comings.
Honestly reviews in my country are quite bad. Only 4-5/10 so far.
Thing is, when people say there is a bias in Marvels favour... you have to ask why. It's because they have built a lot of good will and confidence in the audience and critics.
At the moment DC/WB have failed to do that outside of Nolan TDK trilogy. Green Lantern bombed. Man of Steel made money but was polarising. Dawn of Justice is getting ripped apart.
I think their vision, whether it's Snyder's or the studios, just hasn't clicked like it should have. It's a damn shame.
Superman should have become more hopeful and confident in this film. But he hasn't grown from MoS it seems. Still brooding and treating his responsibilities as a huge burden on his life.
I'm not even sure that bias exists. People have been openly talking about which Marvel movie is going to be the first one to fail. First people assumed it'd be Thor, then they assumed it'd be Avengers, then it was Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man. In a few months you'll start seeing people question if Marvel can pull off Dr Strange. Marvel has plenty of doubters, they've just somehow managed to exceed expectations most of the time.
This has probably been noted already but this is a couple of bad reviews away from being in the 20's on RT.
Curious about something; Marvel puts out strong or at least passable material consistently, no doubt. Bias most probably doesn't exist, but do you think that maybe the hold Marvel has over the genre, because of their constant and consistent input in it, has perhaps created some preconceived notions about how the movies in this genre should look or feel like, at least in terms of tone and themes?

No, theories like this don't give audiences and critics enough credit. They'll easily, I'd say eagerly, accept something new and fresh if the film in question is halfway decent.
