I'm shocked I didn't see this pop up sooner.
I really doubt we're gonna get Superman as a solo property again in the near future reboot or sequel. They've 3 cracks at the apple with fanboys unsatisfied and reception mixed to bad, while Batman still puts butts in seats and seems to come out well in this thing.
If you're hoping for them to attempt another Superman film again after all the drama the character costs for WB, forgetta about it. He'll be in JLA and other films I suspect, but I doubt they're gonna search for yet another white night to revive the characters solo film prospects.
I think it's probably best to accept that it's going to be 30-35% at the highest. It's unfortunate, but it's reality.
I say this with love; many posters have shown to be treacherous when it comes to the dialog surrounding this film. It is especially damning when for the better part of 3-4 years there has been this constant mantra of "waiting until you see it".Imagine, just 2 nights ago those early rumblings of positive buzz and now poof.

Love how we're all carefree joking about when the entire cbm genre just took a massive hit to its reputation...
Wow, that's a really glowing compliment! I totally agree that it's the best Superman comic in years. Have you seen the pitch for his dream MOS sequel?

He might not have the most likable personality, but he has THE BEST ideas for Superman stories.
I know for a fact over half the people posting right now hasn't seen the film and they're already calling for Zack's head. It's absolutely laughable how spineless some people have presented themselves.
Bash the film all you want, but have the gall to actually speak from personal experience.
Sucker Punch is currently sitting at a 23%.
Does anyone think BvS will match that or possibly be worse?
I actually agree Superman is now a tainted property and he will never get a solo film again. Henry Cavill, Amy Adams have been screwed over by WB/DC yet again.
Didn't they learn anything from Sony and their ASM2 debacle?
I honestly wish I could go back.
The worst part about this is I can't be excited when the movie is about to play. Nothing is more exciting than being in that dark theater room. With TFA, the ratings were great and I was pumped out of my mind. And I'm a bigger fan of Superman and Batman than Star Wars. But this has just taken the air out of everything. Couple of my friends dropped out from watching and refunded their tickets. I'm still on the fence.
Their inability to strike when the iron was hot, is the biggest problem WB has had. They only started planning a shared universe following Marvel's tail.
Just imagine them having a foresight like Marvel did, planning their universe on the laurels
of The Dark Knight trilogy instead of starting all over.
Imagine a Batman replacement spin-off with JGL, a decent Superman film, a Wonder Woman spin-off, a Superman sequel with the temporary Batman in which similar to the Empire Strikes Back the good guys aren't strong enough, which in turn makes Christian Bale come from retirement, taking over the mantle while JGL becomes Nightwing.
There's your Justice League film. Gazilion $ guaranteed. During that film you can add Flash or Aquaman, or you can leave them for the sequel.
WB, on the contrary, isn't building a universe. They have had a single film that wasn't very well received and instead of slowing down they've crammed everything into the sequel hoping to elude about 5 steps in the build-up so they just have their money making machine in the Justice League films.
Didn't they learn anything from Sony and their ASM2 debacle?
This is depressing. Superman doesn't deserve this.
I really do worry for the DC Cinematic Universe. I'm not at all worried for comic book movies altogether, though (especially after how well Deadpool has done and how Marvel Studios keeps on truckin').
