Yes! I didn't even think about Alan Davis, those 2 one shots he did a few years ago are great, I'm gonna go dig them up right now.

*I could only find one so I guess he only did one. For some reason I thought he did 2.

True. It seems like they'd be better suited to Thor while Ferry and Larraz's more cartoony styles would be better for Kid Loki in JiM. But maybe that's just me.
I think Ferry's art would be great on a Malekith/Darkelf story

That is awesome. Not $400 awesome, but if I had that kind of money to throw around, I would totally get one.

How long until that's incorporated into an episode of The Big Bang Theory...?

Literally forever. The Big Bang Theory is owned by CBS/Warner Bros. and Marvel is owned by ABC/Disney. Never the twain shall meet. ;)

I never looked at it like that. Come to think of it, it has been pretty DC heavy with all of the comic related stuff.

There was a marathon over the winter break last month and I noticed it then. Episode after episode, it was "Green Lantern" this and "Justice League" that; never any mention of any Marvel characters. Not even a "with great power comes great responsibility" joke, which are pretty common. Then I started looking around the guys' apartment when they showed it and kept seeing more DC stuff and no Marvel stuff. Finally I realized it was probably a licensing issue, but I had to look up whether CBS and WB had any relationship to be sure.

Can there be any licensing issue if the characters are just mentioned in dialogue? Props, t-shirts and actual comics being show are one thing but can Disney/Marvel really do anything if their products are casually mentioned or talked about in the script?

in the Avengers Merchandise thread the company making the Helmets will be making Thor's Avengers hammer too. thing is we have no clue what any of those prices are as of yet

'Tis pretty, isn't it? I still think I'll forgo buying the book, but it's nice to see his updated take on Thor.

I was asking him om Face Book before X-mas about his take on the new costume and he teased me didn't say anything detailed but he lead on he might be doing something

Always great to see Simonson's art, especially on Thor. I don't know if that's the regular cover or a variant, but I'll definitely try to get it if I can.

I might go out just to buy those covers. Great to see him back at Marvel.

I bet Bendis will have tons of Thor moments for Simonson, but ofcourse a shot of Luke Cage + his family just so Bendis can have the penciled version fro himself hehe.

Hey Vartha, i think Ultimates volume 1 is getting released soon, more Hickman Thor for you. <3! Check this badass Oliver Coipel (i think) variant cover for Ultimates:

Pick your poison, will Bendis write Thor geting his ass kicked or is Fraction killing off Thor again? >: ) Or perhaps Hickman will show how utterly awesome force of nature Thor is, booyah!

Hehe, he won't get killed again, that's for sure.
And it's great to see Thor facing phoenix... If there's a hero who can ,at least, give it a good battle, that's the Thunder God. :word:

Have you guys seen that?

Journey Into Mystery #83 Hits Record $222,200!
The past year has been a good one for The Avengers and all of the team’s members — particularly when it comes to vintage comics sales. The lastest record to fall is for the first appearance of Thor in Journey Into Mystery #83. A CGC 9.4 copy of the comic was sold by Pedigree Comics this week for $222,200.

Journey Into Mystery #83 is cover-dated August 1962 and hit the newsstands that June. The title began in 1952 and was originally a horror anthology, but issue #83 introduced Thor in a 13 page story titled “The Stone Men From Saturn” by Jack Kirby, Joe Sinnott, Stan Lee, and Larry Lieber. Thor appeared in the book from #83 through #125, and the title was renamed Thor with issue #126 in 1966.

This CGC 9.4 copy is tied with two other copies for 2nd best copy ever evaluated by the industry’s third-party grading service Comics Guaranty Corporation, which maintains a census of the comics it has graded. The best known and census-topping CGC 9.6 copy from the famous White Mountain pedigree last changed hands several years ago in a private transaction, before the most recent escalation of Marvel key comic prices of the past few years. The previous record for a public sale was for a CGC 9.2 copy for $100,000 in October 2011, also from Pedigree Comics.

“The book is characterized by unbelievable color strike, perfect centering, tight staples, razor sharp corners and phenomenal white pages,” says Doug Schmell of Pedigree Comics. ”It is easily the second nicest existing copy and it comes from the best known run of Journey Into Mystery (the “Canadian Original Owner Collection”). Founded in 2002, this unbelievable run of Journey Into Mystery (28 books in total) contains many of the highest graded examples of each issue, most of which are in certified 9.4 and higher. ”

With Marvel’s visibility at an all-time high among the general public, last year was a banner year for high grade copies of vintage Marvel comics. In 2011, Bleeding Cool noted record sales of X-Men #1 for $200,000, Fantastic Four #1 for $300,000, Captain America Comics #1 for $343,000 , Avengers #1 for $250,000, Avengers #4 for $91,500, and Tales of Suspense (first Iron Man) for $147,500, with the best copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 (first appearance of Spider-Man) shocking the vintage collecting scene with a $1.1 million sale in March 2011.

This Journey Into Mystery #83 sale looks like our first big record of 2012, kicking off the year right by more the doubling the previous public sale of any copy of the book. With an absolutely astounding slate of vintage comics coming up from Heritage Auctions next month, we will soon see if 2012 maintains the pace set last year.

Great cover, but I have no faith in Marvel letting Thor put up a good fight against the Phoenix force even though he should.

Yeah I have the original Ultimates run but not the ones following.
Intersting Pheonix vs Thor huh?
