New JIM ships next week! I'm really liking the artist on this arc, Damion Hellstrom is a pretty cool character that I didn't know about until recently. This arc might be better then the last one.

Yeah, Rich Elson is a great artist, and the best of JIM's art team, imo.

I'm more partial to Doug Braithwaite, myself. But Elson's good too. I mean, he's certainly no Whilce Portacio.

Portacio has the talent to make just about everyone look like a monster...

The preview already looks excellent. Elston's kids look like kids again, Thorri is starting to look like Daddy, and I can't wait to see the look on Hellstrom's face on page 5.

How freakin' good was JIM #634?! The story was great (nothing new here!) and the art has
never been this beautiful:up:

Leah is vying for favorite status with Loki for me in his own comic. She's awesome.

When is Matt Fraction's run on Thor going to end! I'm glad Ferry didn't do the art last issue (10)

And if I may, the cover of Thor Deviants Saga 4 shows him battling Phastos, they have no such fight in the issue. The info describes Thor battling dinosaurs in the savage land. He only fought one T-Rex, or what ever it was. Tired of Marvel misleading me, not nice.

Great cover, but I have no faith in Marvel letting Thor put up a good fight against the Phoenix force even though he should.

Agreed. If he beat Sentry and the Serpent, there is no reason why he shouldn't take out Phoenix, then again he isn't allowed to beat the Hulk so who knows what these editors are thinking.

I'm just loving they've made JIM into the Loki book and Thor having his own. JIM was just awesome again, tho I think that X-Mas story is and will be my fave for awhile humor wise lol

...because defeating the serpent killed him. I'm just freakin SICK of Thor and every other Marvel character getting killed and brought back :cmad:

If anyone had ever told me I'd be reading a book starring Loki and lovin' it like this, I'd have looked at them very strangely...but it's got such a great cast.

Lovin' the way Leah just casually holds Hellstrom off with one hand while she and Loki have that conversation about what she's doing there.

And Thori's one line just kills me...

Hadn't met Hellstrom before, but quite enjoying him, too. (Shirtless men in leather pants? :woot: I'm with Leah on that one.)

And that's a really interesting commitment Loki makes in the middle of his nightmare...hoping he gets to pull that off, eventually.

Thor nearly killed the Hulk--a souped-up, hammer-wielding Hulk, no less--in that very same storyline. He's also knocked the Red Hulk around in every one of their fights after the first between them. The tide is turning on Thor/Hulk battles lately because Thor is popular again. For the last twenty or thirty years, the Hulk was vastly more popular than Thor, so he got to win anytime they fought.

And it better stay that way.

I wonder if Thor's helmet keeps disappearing because of the movie...

Probably. Funny - Thor only wore the helmet very briefly in the opening & never wore it in any of the battle scenes, yet Loki wears his horned headgear during the climactic fight even though it looks far more cumbersome and inflexible than Thor's helmet.

Because helmets are awesome. They don't even impede the actors' ability to emote through facial expressions, either. I don't get why they weren't worn in every scene, damn it. :argh:

I don't get why Captain America had to rip his mask off during the final moments where he pilots the plane into the arctic - it's not like we couldn't see his eyes. He can't seem to keep the mask on during whatever big blow out battle is due in Avengers either.
