By the Bristling Beard of Odin! The Thor Thread - Part 2

I love the fact that the new arm is made of uru but the metal arm thing is a bit tired at this point. Also, did I miss the revelation regarding what made Thor unworthy or did Fury just whisper nonsense into his ear?

I'm still against the idea, but the story has been great so far. So have Loki and Angela's books if anybody here cares.
It's STILL a mystery CS. I think one of the interviews said that we might not ever find out, like we won't know WHO the new Thor is.

Maybe Thor is worthy but the hammer is no longer worthy of him what with all the times it has broken.

Oh no, those are two questions that need answers. Aaron, c'mon man.

yeah there's no way they won't reveal those bits of info
those two things are pretty much whats driving the whole story right now

I agree. Man I WAS pissed when I first heard about this storyline but when I read it I ended up liking it cause it was a fresh new approach. Marvel didn't bust a Jenner on Thor.

I personally think changing the gender and/or ethnicity of existing characters shows a serious lack of originality. Why turn Bruce Banner into a Greek Woman or turn T'Challa into a Russian. Why not create a new Greek or Russian female superhero?

Thor just lost his arm and his worthiness to wield Mjolnir! A woman proved to be worthy of Mjolnir instead. To me that is a cool and a fresh way to change up the Thor comic.

Magic Buddy. Odin will cast a spell on Thor and the arm will grow back.

I never considered Odin b/c since being brought back from Hel, he's been equal parts apathetic and incompetent.

I've lowered my pitchfork only b/c she doesn't seem interested in necessarily replacing Thor; just making sure that Mjolnir is put to good use while sorts his stuff out. If she came on the scene trying to emasculate Thor and being a jerk about the whole thing, that wouldn't be cool at all. Now that we know it's not his mother nor Valkyrie, I'm putting my money on Jane Foster.

I would agree with you on that. So far so good IMO. I do however can't wait for Thor to regain his arm and worthiness.

Hey Vartha aren't you part of the SCA?
The Renaissance Faire I worked at was started by the SCA back in the 70's. They did how ever keep it going. You had to be dressed just right and all.

Shhhhh, we're not calling it a "reboot" yet even though that's obviously what it is.

lol yeah yeah or a focusing. Seeing as there are multiples of everyone being fused into one character each

That's cool. I am part of the SCA.

Also I agree that Thor will be back to normal after the Secret Wars story is done.

After this is said and done, I need a Thor/Herc or Thor/BRB bro-down for old time's sake. Hyperion's off doing otherworldy things and left Thor bro-less.

when the 616 reboots this summer? lol

I doubt Thor is getting completely revamped. Not only is it selling incredibly well (more than Avengers or JL), but Aaron is building up to something huge and there are no signs that he will be wrapping it up anytime soon.

I want Thor, Herc and Hyperion to have their own live action team up film along with solo films for Herc and Hyperion.

I haven't read much of Hickman's run, what is Hyperion's personality??
He hasn't had any dialogue in the few places I've seen him, so I just assume he's pretty much superman

He's quiet, reserved, feels out of place in this universe, but seems to really get along with Thor. They spent time in the Savage Land raising the zebra children. Hickman didn't do much to characterize him, that's all from Avengers World which is the best Avengers book since Slott's Might Avengers IMO.

Finally ODIN!!!

I love that crazy old man. I'm glad he's not as fine with all this as everybody else in Asgard. Also Creel's dialogue at the beginning of the issue was a bit much.

In some ways Hickman's Hyperion reminds me a little bit of the Silver Age Superman, minus the clunky Silver Age dialogue.

Yeah Odin's not at ALL happy lol I still wonder if we will EVER find out what Nick whispered to Thor to make even Odin unworthy.

Fury whispering only made Thor unworthy. It's implied that the reason Odin used to be capable of lifting the hammer was because it was his enchantment not because he was worthy. Now the enchantment has "grown" past Odin becoming more powerful than even him.
