Wolvie and Storm kiss! A quite touching scene actually. And I've always liked the idea of that pairing (I guess much thanks to TAS).

That sequence actually really works until the kiss.

The kiss is kind of craptacular. I don't know if its them lacking chemistry or it being too "Hollywood kiss" orwhat. It just doesn't look good.

I wish Halle Berry didn't get kiss Hugh on set, who knows the actual goodbye scene could have been in the final cut.

I agree that the scene does work, it's emotional seeing the last 2 surviving members of the original team saying goodbye. The kiss was unneccessary though.

The kiss seems fine to me. I mean, he did kiss Jean the same way in X2 and there wasn't an issue....

The kiss was 'meh' because there's very little chemistry between the two. Fox and friends have been trying to get their two biggest stars of the franchise to smooch since X2. They finally got it with the help of Kingberg, 11 years later and it's all kind of, "what? Okay...can we move one now?"

This is the first time I'm seeing someone feel this way about them as a couple. I got those GIFs from Tumblr and it has over 1,000 reply's of people saying things like "it was perfect" "they should have left it in".

A goodbye scene was definitely needed just to show that Storm was important, but as usual Bryan just kind of left her out of the main plot haha. He really doesn't know how to use her. The kiss was totally Fox and Kinberg. It was stupid and would have just made Storm even more throwaway because Logan has that moment with Jean at the end of the movie.

In any case, Extant has been renewed! Congrats to Halle. I liked the show, but hopefully they can fix the things that didn't work in the first season... better pacing, more subtlety, sharper storytelling/dialogue, etc. They have a great premise and some solid actors... and the art direction is on point! Get it together!

I'm so happy it got renewed! The creator has definitely been listening to ALL of the feedback (which I'm happy with). He says that things will be better in season 2.

Agreed. I honestly don't understand why this wasn't kept in, considering that 75% of the film focused on the past. The OT cast got cheated in terms of screen time and character development.

Also, there was a hint of romantic tension between Logan and Storm in XTLS: especially when he pushed her against the wall, struggling with his emotions for Jean. You could see that at least Storm was developing feelings for him. In this film's theatrical cut, Logan always mentions Storm first...and when he sees her from the stairwell, he announces it with a certain level of fondness. So this DOFP clip is not entirely out of place...it puts things in perspective.

Watching the scene, I'm glad it was cut. Bryan praises both actors on the commentary, but it honestly comes out of nowhere and the two suddenly feel like bad tv actors.


Plus, it was a long extended scene that starts with all the characters walking to the temple together and ends with just Wolverine and Storm. The first part of the scene HAD to be cut, cause it just feels terrible and forced (it's just characters like Blink and Bishop saying exacly what Kitty ends up telling ,Logan, but it's just a forced shot that feels uncomfortable). Once they realized that part didn't work, that Storm/Logan scene kinda had to go because, as I said, it isn't it's own scene, it's the tail end of a bigger scene. If they only cut the first part, you'd be wondering why the heck Logan and Storm are suddenly just standing there.

Agreed. Although I must say I actually liked the emotion from Storm--Halle Berry is great at bringing on the tears and facial anguish. I think if they had simply hugged and lingered a bit that would've been enough. I tried putting it into context: If I was saying goodbye to my partner for the last time ever, I'm not sure I would kiss him quite so "passionately", because that parting of ways would be the signaling of the death of our relationship as we knew it. So it'd be more like an intense embrace with tears. We'd linger and maybe kiss but not as if we were about to have sex...more like, a kiss of sorrow if that makes any sense.

But that's just me. Logan is an animal that runs on instinct. He approached that kiss AND Storm ferociously...
