Yeah, but what are the chances of it lasting on Cartoon Network? This is basically the equivalent to Jeremiah's Hamburgers getting bulldozed over to make room for a McDonald's.
Let's just pray to the good Lord that Cartoon Network picks up Spectacular Spider-Man.
More New NEWS! On spectacular Spider-Man and the Batman!
4Kids Entertainment will begin programming The CW Networks Saturday morning schedule in September 2008. Until then, the schedule will most likely remain as it is now (with the exception of midseason replacements The Spectacular Spider-Man and The World of Quest entering the slate in early 2008). But what of some of the network mainstays, like The Batman and Legion of Super Heroes? Their situation does not change. Their continued production has always been dependent on a distributor/network placing an order for episodes. Warner Bros. Animation produces animated entertainment for a wide variety of distribution platforms, such as broadcast and cable television, direct-to-DVD, broadband, wireless, etc. So, as many feared, they will likely find a new home, so dont worry about that. If anything, this could produce some exciting developments for the series.
And remember, 4Kids is an acquisition/distribution company. Warner Bros. Animation is an animation studio. If 4Kids wants to acquire and distribute WBA productions, the option is there. Of course, thats not the only option for WBA. Within recent months, the barriers between production companies and distributors completely blurred. Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series are both currently airing on JETIX, a part of Toon Disney. Plus, we got Pinky and the Brian joining the Toon Disney lineup in the near future. Who would have thought wed see three decidedly Warner Bros.-branded series airing on a Disney-owned network. Just a few years ago, a deal like that was unthinkable. Now its a sign that anything is possible. Things are changing and doors are opening, no question.
At this time, in terms of television series animation, there is no answer as to what will be produced for next fall. A number of projects are in development, and any WBA series currently in production can be extended. But typically, November and December are the months when those decisions begin to be formulate. However, series pick-ups are not announced until February, so those answers will probably not be finalized until early in 2008.
And just remember, WBA has a lot of productions beyond television to look forward to. WBA thriving in the direct-to-DVD market Superman Doomsday sales are outstanding, as are the current numbers for our latest Scooby-Doo release. WB in full production on New Frontier and the third film in the DCU series. WBA is also finalizing scripts and development on several others. Another Scooby DVD is in production, and others are being developed. Take into consideration all that AND WBs upcoming original animated productions for T-Works and youll see that its a busy time at WBA.
Even if the alleged good anime exists, it doesnt exist in the form of children's cartoons. The best anime is super violent to make up for its "crazy japanese wackiness" plot, and dont exactly fit with the tradition of great Saturday morning cartoons.
The thing is, great American shows like Exo-Squad, Gargoyles, TMNT '03, Batman: TAS and Spiderman: TAS were great in spite of the heavy restrictions put on them and S&P issues that the japanese dont have to worry about. If only Gargoyles and BTAS and probably alot of recent shows had the ability to do whatever they wanted, we'd have even better shows. If American animaters could actually put on screen the ideas they come up with, people would care less about anime because it would rock so hard. None of this has to do with 4kids taking over and putting the low-end anime shows out, but I'm just saying, people will always remember the old Fox Kids block and no kid in fifteen years will recall what was going on in the haze of animated card game shows where cat faced japanese children yelled annoyingly and danced around and shot mushrooms out of their mouths.
Believe it or not, Naruto is a children's cartoon in Japan.
Ugh whatever. I still think there are good shows out there. Avatar, Foster's, SpongeBob. I'm not broken up about The Batman if it is gone. If there are fans of the show, you should be grateful it was on so long. I personally hated the look of the show and the Jeff Matsuda designs and Romano as Bruce/Batman and Kevin Michael Richardson as Joker.
People are so concerned about SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN, which doesn't look as good as 90's Spider-man, and yet people look at Wolverine and The X-men which has no US broadcaster and say, "Oh it's Wolverine, it sucks!"
You should be rooting for Wolverine and the X-men to get picked up too if you are that upset about the state of American cartoons/animation.
Well it's the last season anyways...
Abaddon said:Spectacular Spider-man hasn't even aired so how are you even comparing it's quality to TAS?
I still don't know why people think it's much like Ultimate Spider-Man, I mean Peter was in high school in his early years too and there taking from the LEE/Ditko/Romita age just because he's in high school doesn't mean it's like Ultimate Spider-Man.When will it finally be over?t:
Some people have already noticed things.Like SSM is much like Ultimate Spider-Man,and the animation is sort of like Teen Titans. Not like Batman,Spider-Man or X-Men the animated series which was identical to the comics.

LOLOLIt looks more like Kim Possible. And like GG said, it's really isn't much like Ultimate Spider-man. It's only similar in that they condensed time and lots of characters that he meets in the comics while in college appear in high school.
IDK why people say that but I'm really looking forward to Wolverine and The X-Men ( I've been posting alot of news on it in the "First Image Of Wolverine cartoon" thread in the Wolverine thread.) I'm really looking forward to it but just Spectacular Spider-Man more since I'm just at heart more of a Spidey fan then X-Men.I just don't care for the design scheme of the show.
But you guys are crying bloody murder over how 4kids is treating THE BATMAN and SSM, and how anime is being pushed too hard now, yet people look at WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN and say it sucks.
Then you should keep checking there's been a bunch of news lately...go to the "First image Of Wolverine Cartoon" Thread in the Wolverine section. And now there's two images from the cartoon, you should check out that thread.Really, because there is only one picture of Wolverine and no information about it that I've come across. So its hard to get hyped for that.
I'm not saying there are no good shows out, I'm saying the WB is the last saturday morning outlet for good non-4Kids cartoons. Dont people all ready hate them for their new Pokemon? And dont they all ready do Fox's lineup entirely?
I'm sorry I don't share your enthusiasm for the Batman. To me that show jumped the shark after season 2 and really jumped with this new season.
Well I'm certainly not going to miss this show. It lasted 5 seasons, shouldn't you all at least be happy about that?
People *****ed so much about JLU being over, but the show had a good run and over 90 episodes. Very few action/super hero shows manage to do that.
Also to Dread, X-men from the 90's was on for 6 or 7 seasons.
I personally am looking forward to Wolverine and the X-men.
Iron Man unfortunately got canned after the second season, after basically becoming one of the best super hero animated cartoons ever. That first season was pretty crappy at times, but season 2 was a total 180.
OMG, peeps get your facts straightSo they are pulling the plug on Spectacular Spider-man before it even aired once? That's stupid...in favor of POKEMON? That fad ended when I was in 8th grade, SEVEN years ago.

If by jump the shark, you mean got leaps and bounds better, than sure. It finally started getting some competent writing, and is getting on track.
Uh, no. X-Men had 5 seasons, and ran from 1992-1996, until it went to syndication.
You can always wait for season sets on DVD.F*** THAT **IT MOTHA****AS!!
( Not towards you if your thinking that)
So Kids WB ordered 26 episodes of Spectacular Spidey for no damn reason?!I don't believe this!!! I can care less for The Batman right now but Spectacular Spidey was going to be greatness!
Son of a *****!!!!
Sooo angry![]()
Really, because there is only one picture of Wolverine and no information about it that I've come across. So its hard to get hyped for that.
How about we just be glad they didn't turn Iron Man into the biggest ******* dick supervillain on the planet like the comics did?Iron Man unfortunately got canned after the second season, after basically becoming one of the best super hero animated cartoons ever. That first season was pretty crappy at times, but season 2 was a total 180.
Aside from obviously missing the point about what Wolverine is to the X-Men...looks maybe good.this was the second one with cyclops in the line up
