AGREED, to an extent...i want SOME things to be comical to us, well in a way, comical... but i want most things to be absolutely insane, but funny to him... id rahter see him laughing then myself laughing.

Al Ghul and Crane did kill a lot of people, plus many more who will assumingly die in the chaos between the end of BB and the beginning of TDK. Also, they caused tremendous fear and terror throughout the entire narrows due to the fear gas, which could cause some psychological damage as well. Also, Nolan decides to have the Joker be an escapee of Arkham Asylum, one could argue that all the deaths that happen at the Joker's hands in TDK are indirectly caused by Ra's and Scarecrow also.

Uh.. because other people were discussing Jack's Joker, and because one poster in particular said that anyone who doesn't like that Joker is a fool? Seriously, did you even bother to read any of the posts before mine? It's not like I just waltzed in here and started complaining about Jack's Joker for no reason. I've let my feelings be known about that Joker in other threads as well.

Jack's Joker was far more dangerous than the anmiated one, where deaths rarely happened. Maybe you like a more inoffensive Joker.

Considering that some of my favorite Joker comics are violent ones, no. I was just watching an episode of TAS earlier today where the Joker was trying to set off an atomic bomb, was stopped by Batman, so he tried to crash his plane into it, willing to kill himself in order to take out Gotham City. I can't see Jack's chuckling, laid back Joker doing something so psychotic. It's true that Fox prevented the creators from having many deaths on the show, but they could still have the Joker trying to kill as many people as they wanted him to. That sorta made up for it.

No, the fact that he did an awesome acting job means it.

Tim wanted him to be himself and that's what he did. If by "acting" you mean that he was good at being himself, I agree. But I don't agree that he was good at being the Joker. Far too humorless for that.

And by "peeopel and "they" you're refering to who...? What focus group exactly in what research about Joker's liking you're basing your well-informed opinions on?

I'm talking about the crowd in the movie who were dancing over to the Joker's float before he'd even started throwing money to them. They weren't afraid of him in the least, even though it was common knowledge that he'd tried to poison the whole town (he made a commercial bragging about it and it was also in the news).

People were there picking up the money. After the gas they were running afraid and/or dying with a smile.

I recommend you to watch the movie.

I've seen it many times. I've seen all the Batman movies many times (with the exception of Batman and Robin, which I haven't watched all the way through, but plan to in the near future). And of course they were running with fear when he was gassing them. My point was that they were dancing over to him before he'd even started throwing money, that they weren't afraid, even though he'd tried to poison the whole city. Joker shouldn't be somebody that people go dancing towards.. he should be someone that the average person takes off running from.

i think the whole 'who killed more' argument is going to far....

face it guys, the new joker is going to be percieved as more lethal then nicholsons joker. which is good and bad depending on your perspective.

i personally didnt like Nicholsons joker, and am HOPING for a better one with ledger.

lets move back to the real topic... apparently this Joker is more frightening and utterly disturbing then nicholsons more so funny approach...i mean honestly, my cousin isnt a big movie buff like i am, and i brought up the new Joker to him, cause naturally anyone who liked batman in 89 is somewhat interested...and he even stated that he loved nicholson as joker because it was so damn funny. maybe its because of what jack is today that makes it funny/fun to see him backthen???

Heath's Joker should be an insane psycho who laughs at the most disturbing things. He should have a sense of humor, but a very sick one. I want some twisted and out of the ordinary kills, not just gun shots. And as well as killing as the psychotic madman, he's also got to pull off Joker antics. Just read Killing Joke, in which Joker uses electric buzzers, flag pop-guns, amoung others. He can't just remain hidden in shadows, licking his lips, thirsting for blood. He's got be to theatrical(taste for the theatrics). I loved Nicholson's take on the Joker, he was a great blend of several visions; the critics, GA, and AFI tend to agree. But now, I hope Heath's version is even better.

I've shown a few people the pictures as well. One guy who reads comics every now and then(but isn't a hype junkie), he saw the pics and said Joker looked terrible in most shots but he liked the one where he has Rachel and thought it looked badass. Then he took a closer look and said "wtf, why is Joker's neck not chalk white." I said he will probably wear makeup and he said it wasn't that big of a deal.

I showed it to a few people who don't read comics at all but do like the movies. I told them to take a close look at his appearance and tell me what they thought. It was 50/50, several said they loved the long hair and black eyes. Others said they disliked it and the scarred grin. But none of them mentioned anything about the makeup. The one comment I got the most probably was "I like the long hair, but why is it half brown with green?"

Don't forget technically he tied up someone and forced them to read a little quiz thing when you call a certain number. He also killed one of the contestants and posed it off as him. The movie isn't even out and hes killing. Now thats a guy who loves his job.

Set reports, they turned the Brach's Candy factory into a General hospital and blew it up. People on set said Joker was there dressed in a pink Nurses outfit.
