No I haven't bought it but I've already seen the PS3 and PC versions in shops, probably 360 versions too. What's the word? Worth the hype?

I hated Call of Duty 3. I'll pass on this.

do you have a gaming pc? Theres a demo out there if you want to download and try it out. Personally this type of game isnt for me. Im not into realistic FPS

Official thread is on the MS fourm because no one will play the PS version!!!:D

And no one will play the PC version? I was under the impression that ALL shooters are primarily better on PC anyways.

...Huh. Well considering that games like Unreal PC will probably outsell both the 360 and PS3 versions, I don't see why Call of Duty won't.

Ah heck, I've never played the game, this thread is for guys who play it, doesn't matter what platform its on. COD4: Modern Warfare. So I'me guessing the game is similar to Battlefield 2. What are the factions? Is the Single Player campaign interesting? Cross-Platform multiplayer, reviews, ratings, discuss!

Honestly its a great all around series! If you want to play the single its great fun and intense! Same with the Multiplayer! COD1 was named game of the year on the pc! COD2 was named game of the year on 360! No doubt COD4 will be one of the contenders for GOTY!

Good thing for you then that Call of Duty 3 was developed by a COMPLETELY different studio. This game is comparable to CoD3 in name only. Development went back to Infinity Ward who was responsible for the amazing outing that was Call of Duty 2.

Actually thats all the more reason to give COD4 a chance. COD3 was made by a different studio as was posted earlier. And they didn't really do the series justice. At least rent it or download the demo if your PC can run it.

As for the reviews, they have been great across the board so far, but Gamespot has yet to review it. I haven't noticed anything, but has there been any talk of differences between the 360 and PS3 versions? I know there was some rumor or something that the PS3 would have better graphics, but as far as I have seen the reviews mention nothing of it. IGN has identical review for both platforms with the scores on the graphics the same.

I need to make a choice...

I have 60 bucks in my pocket right now...

Should I spend it on Assasin's Creed( next week) or COD4:Modern Warfare (This week) ???

What would YOU do?

Wait until AC gets reviewed at least. Did you play the multiplayer beta, it gives a pretty good idea of how it plays, and it was awesome. If you are really into FPS's, this is the best out right now.

if you're not sure just rent it. most games can be beaten within 5 days anyway. if you like it so much you need to own it then at least you'll know it's worth your $60.

Single player sounds great, reviews made it sound really good. But the best thing about the game is the multiplayer. Thats where you probably won't be able to tell just how good it is in 5 days because it takes a while to unlock everything. Theres 55 max levels you can rank up to. In the Beta they sped up the leveling up to give people a taste.

What would I do? I'd work my ass off overtime the whole week so that I can earn enough green to buy and play both. Just like I already in the last two weeks of October. Now I have enough cash to buy COD4, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Crysis and Kane & Lynch. It's game time, baby!:up:

i don't think it really matters considering i haven't heard any problems with CoD4 running on the PS3 (common amongst PS3 ports) and about the only thing i can think of where either of one version of the game has an advantage over the other is that PS3 puts out true 1080p......other than that, they'll probably be pretty much the same.

I don't know. I'd be kinda confused if I were a person who had both systems and was trying to decide which to get it on. Because all the reviews I've seen don't tell of any differences, graphics wise or anything else, between the two. IGN has an identical review for both, which I hate when they do that. I guess it comes down to what kind of controller you feel more comfortable with playing FPS's with. Personally, I think the 360 controller is the best, the triggers just work so much better than the PS3's shoulder pad type buttons. I also think the placement of the analog sticks feel much more natural.
