I'd certainly LIKE to see Rhodey in it. Not in a romantic capacity, but he is a fellow Air Force officer after all, so it makes sense.

Spoken like a true Captain Marvel contender...
I feel dumb because it took me a few minutes to get it.Who would base a superhero on some of your own tweets?![]()
Thanks for the laugh.I wouldn't be surprised if Carmichael gets the job. Marvel usually gets those directors who haven't really jumped on to the scene yet and ones who tend to be fans and understand the character.
I would be very surprised. Every director Marvel has hired has directed at least one feature film, Carmichael hasn't directed any features, just shorts. You'd really be throwing her in the deep end.
Some Brie Larson haters make the point that she's never been in an action role before. Exactly how relevant is this fact? James Gunn says actors rarely ever do their own stunts. So, what impossible hard thing do actors really have to do? I think winning an Oscar is easier than doing action scenes. Just saying.
Nah, she's currently writing/directing that Powerhouse film for Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow, so she'd have a high profile feature under her belt by the time she gets to this. She's also writing Pacific Rim 2. She's being groomed for big things, imo.
Oh my God, they're right, she's never been in an action movie before. And now that I think of it, she's probably never even piloted a plane, or flown in space! Some Brie Larson haters make the point that she's never been in an action role before.

If Martial Arts were involved it might be an issue
A character who is a top notch hand-to-hand fighter requires the actor to at least look convincing enough to do the close-ups, and if they can do some of their own stunts, all the better
but a powerhouse character with energy beams and flight and whatnot? She just has to be able to superhero-pose well, and I don't think she'll have an issue learning that.
Plus she's got what, three years before her solo? So if she needs to look good fighting, she has plenty of time to train
This may be the case, but the truth is, we simply don't know yet. A start date/release date for Powerhouse could be announced in the next couple months, and for all we know, she could be just about done with it by the end of 2017. And PR2 is irrelevant because that has an early 2018 release date, and she's just a co-writer so her part on it will have been done looooong before that. There are just too many unknown factors to rule her out of the running already, imo.Reading up on Powerhouse, she was only just hired to write/direct that this past May. No release date on it, or filming date, but I'd say the earliest that's coming out is mid-2018.
I think that takes Carmichael out of the running completely, Capt Marvel would have to be filming by March 2018 (with a year of pre-production before that), she can't do both at the same time.
Throw co-writing Pacific Rim 2 on top of all that, I don't see how she gets CM.
Honestly, I can totally see MS hiring Carmichael. Yeah, she might be an out-of-the-box choice but she wouldn't be their first one.
Oh my God, they're right, she's never been in an action movie before. And now that I think of it, she's probably never even piloted a plane, or flown in space!
If only gyms, stunt(wo)men and special effects existed, but alas, they don't, so this flick is doomed. Feige, how could you.
... Movies. They have been around for over a hundred of years, and yet there are still people who don't understand how they work.
EDIT: Well, this is weird.
