Looks like @SamuelLJackson will indeed be co-starring with @brielarson in #CaptainMarvel. Expected to begin shooting on January 8th in ATL.

Well since AoU Fury has been MIA, Carol has a military background and they have been building up her importance due to her power level. Nick Fury taking an interest in her would be understandable.

It would be interesting if Fury tries to recruit her as his own powered agent within the community of super heroes. Widow still has loyalty to him I would guess but she isn't a Thor or a Hulk type. I am not saying Fury should be successful in bringing Carol to his side but I would make sense if he at least attempted to make a pitch to another military vet.

I missed Fury and this move makes sense. if he knows that something big is coming and knowing is his job after all he will search for the biggest guns in the armory. if feige is to be believed Carol is prorably the biggest gun in the MCU.

So with Fury showing up in Captain Marvel it begs the question of if he will show up during her solo film or show up in like a mid credits scene or post credit scene to build up towards IW2

I wonder if Captain M will have a fight scene against Thor or Hulk to show she is one of the big guns. I know they won't pass up an opportunity like that with heroes fighting each other yet again.

We've already established months ago in the Infinity War boards that yes, she will indeed have a fight with both Hulk and Thor, fight that she will easily win because she can fly through the sun and punch asteroids.

I doubt she will fight them. You would think that by time Avengers Four rolls around that everyone is already aware of her.

That will not stop a fight scene. Its the MCU, they will force a fight scene between heroes. The new guys like Antman, Spiderman and Black Panther have already fought fellow heroes. The Guardians will take on the Avengers. No way will Doc Strange or Captain M not fight their fellow heroes.

I enjoy the hero v hero fights for the most part, but I kinda wish Marvel would be less predictable this time.

They could go the route of having her face something similar to what the other heroes have to showcase her power though, without the need to directly involve those characters. The Abomination could escape and she has to face him. Some group or villain could hack into the Hulkbuster armor and she is tasked with stopping it. Hell, given we know Fury is involved he could manipulate events so she has to fight the something like that to make some kind of point.

I can see her fighting one of the Guardians maybe Quill, because he continues to flirt. Really don't know who she can battle that can make sense, I guess Thor. Hulk seems to fight everyone and I expect him to fight Groot and/or Drax. Thor fought in Avengers 1 but didn't have a true fight against anyone in AoU, and will fight Hulk again.

I like that Fury will appear I know SLJ wanted in on Black Panther. SLJ and Brie seem to enjoy working together so this should be good.

I'm glad Fury is in this. Would be cool to see War Machine get a cameo in this or a sequel too with the military background.

I'd rather have her in a sequel. And then Kamala in a 3rd film. Cameos in this film obviously wouldn't hurt.

Interesting. I thought CM was supposed to revisit the Quantum Realm but I doubt they'll drop Nick Fury in there with her.

Also, I guess that confirms he survives Infinity War? Assuming that CM takes place after Avengers 4

Was there ever any doubt? Unless a shark comes from behind and eats him in the middle of a speech, Fury can and will pull through anything.

It does sort of confirm it but I hadn't heard much speculation that he might die in the first film. Vision is the one people are thinking might go early if Thanos rips that gem out of his head.

I was day dreaming today and came up with this alternate Captain Marvel origin.

*Carol Danvers is a latent Inhuman.
*She get's kidnapped by the Royal family who reveal her lineage is tied into there own bloodline.
*They need her to transform and become the first line of defense for a Kree accuser corps attack.
*Blackbolt has gone missing (Maximus shenanigans) and she's the last hope for Inhumans and Humans. (kree accuser corps next stop is Earth).

I'm going for a "Last starfighter" "Flash Gordon" vibe. Stranger in a strange world chosen one scenario.

She'll go through Terriginessis midway through the movie.

I have to confess I have an ulterior motive for including the Inhuman Royal family in this. I want to rescue them from that awful tv show. They deserve be on the big screen, and I think this would be a perfect way to include them in a way that makes sense.

Both Inhumans and Carol Danvers share there origins in Kree interference. It's not that big a stretch.
