I remember Russell Crowe talking about turning down superhero roles saying he'd never wear tights, then ending up in a Superman film where they gave Jor-El tights (fancy, Wilkinson-designed tights, but tights nonetheless) even though they absolutely did not have to.

But yeah, the stigma's been long gone. There are basically just a few pretentious filmmakers (who, let's be real, are annoyed at the budgets these films get while they struggle to get their passion projects funded) still singing that tune.

given the age of some senators, and that one in the MCU was Hydra...

could he have been the senior senator from a state as that Hydra mole senator started his career if in the 90's, or the one recalled to duty in modern times after a few seats opened in the Senate due to IW?

Beatty might have been pretty cool somewhere in The First Avenger if they wrote a more substantial role, like an expanded/more important version of that Senator or something.

in short, how to use superpowers.

something like IM1/Supergirl.

she starts to learn how to fly and crashes down breaking the ground, accidentally destroying something because of her strength, roasting something with her energy blasts etc.

that would be funny to see, at least for 2-5 minutes.

To be honest I thought there was a gap in this movie for an older established actress. Movies like this usually have at least one to give the movie gravitas.

Who do you think she’s playing? What was Carol’s mentor’s name again? The lesbian fighter pilot from the Kelly sue deconnick run? I’ve been trying to find out but I can’t find anything. Anyway her.

Interesting that marvel said this will be bigger than Wonder Woman. I wonder what they mean by that. Hopefully they just focus on heart though not just big bigger biggest. This is marvel though, they get it

Helen Cobb. I don't think that's who she is since this is set in the 90's, and female fighter pilots haven't been around that long.

She's probably Carol's mom as some reports have suggested. If not that, maybe her friend/former boss/mentor Tracy Burke, who was dying of cancer.

I thought the same of the First Avenger and Black Panther suits when we saw set pics. They turned out better after post production so I’ll wait to judge even if I’m not crazy about the green and black combo. I’m guessing they are saving the red and blue for her last costume which is what we will see in Avengers.

"Captain Marvel has a pretty intense sequence," Rutherford said. "One that I drove at LAX, at the airport. It is a big chase scene. How it plays out, or what it means in the film I don't know. They don't tell me that and they don't give us scripts."

Of course, Marvel has made a point of keeping their film details secrets from anyone who doesn't have to know. Rutherford's description is interesting, though, as he details a car chase in a movie centered around an "uber-powerful" hero with the ability to fly.

So this is what Feige was talking about when he said this movie will pay homage to '90s action flicks like Terminator 2.

My solution? Nate Fillion needs to appear as Simon Williams in CM. Have it revealed that Simon was on the SHIELD payroll and his career was based on using his action films as a way to cover up various paranormal events. People see an alien or two super humans battling it out? No worries Jon Q. Public. It was just the latter Simon Williams action film being filmed on location.
