Me too. She should still be running SHIELD at this time, I believe.

She was still active with them until at least 1989 (per the opening-scene of Ant Man). So if this movie takes place in the early to mid-90's as I suspect it will, then she could still be there.

So SLJ is gonna be a CG character the whole film. Damn.

Jules Winnfield rides again.

Haha no just a little bit of cgi help here and there. He’s not going to be Gollum lol.

It’s probably not unusual to be honest. I mean, actors like Tom Holland and Robert Downey jnr always look a lot more ripped that they usually are when they take their shirts off and scarlet was even pregnant when she did avengers age of ultron!

He won't be. Coulson was never a major character in the films. He was the definition of a minor character in the first two Iron Man films and played a little bit more of an important role in Thor and The Avengers but that's it. He won't have a big role in this and nor should he. This isn't Agents of SHIELD.

But given he is the lead character in Agents of SHIELD he is a major deal now. He is no longer a minor character.

Coulson shouldn't be minor though. We are talking a major returning character. He should be Carol Danvers' co-lead.

Funniest thing I’ve read all day. Not Sam Jackson. Not Jude Law.

Him being the lead character of Agents of SHIELD makes him a major deal now.

He was big fish in a small pond on tv. The ratings for Shield were never that big. If he was a “major deal”, then they would have found a way to have him be in the movies again.

If this movie weren’t a prequel, I doubt they would have found another reason to bring him back into the film division.

How I see he a major deal because he leads a show that has barely got its last few seasons? Don’t be ridiculous.

And I say that as someone’s who has watched the show since the beginning. Black Panther is a big deal, Iron Man and Spider-Man are a big deal, Coulson is nothing compared to them.

I don't think CGI enhancement is being used in those shirtless moments in the least.

The long wait until Captain Marvel starts now that Ant-Man and the Wasp is out. Only 7 months :csad:

Were you expecting prosthetics or something?

Just like Kurt Russell at the beginning of Guardians 2 - they will take him as far as they can with make-up techniques and then enhance with digital as needed...

There is of course a difference between what they did in GOTG2 (which... I actually think was just done with a wig and minimal make up) and what they have to do with Fury in CM. Kurt spend the rest of the film after the prologue looking as he does now. With Sam, the majority of his time on screen, whatever it may end up being, will be a Fury in the 90's.

Fuzzy on the TWS stuff, but as for Peggy didn't that movie say Fury first came over to S.H.I.E.L.D. from the regular military side of things in '92?

Guess that doesn't mean he's necessarily taking the top job that same year, so Peggy could still be around. You'd kind of figure they'd have announced Hayley though if that was the plan, I don't think they made a huge secret of it for Ant-Man. Kind of not expecting it at this point, Fury's probably newly-minted Director head honcho.

Dude. This is 20 years before AoS starts. This isn't the same Phil. He's likely met May by this point, maybe Sitwell and some of those other higher-ups too, but from the info we have to go on this is probably more early-90s than late. Guy's probably not "management" yet, not calling any shots.

He's a workhorse at this point, likely not much more. Doesn't matter if he's one of the two main characters in a S.H.I.E.L.D-focused story 20 years later. You're probably not getting as much of Phil in this as in, say, Thor.

They should have done. Coulson should have had a cameo in Infinity War.

Agents of SHIELD, a show that has run for five seasons, and was renewed for a sixth. I think that counts as Coulson being a major deal.

No he should not have. Kevin Feige doesn't care about the TV division. He never has. I believe he has said that as far as the MCU movies go, Coulson is still dead.

Brie posted this on her Twitter and look, another hint at Chewie, in the bottom left corner.

That's good. Heh, I remember when BossLogic was just the guy who made crappy manips for ScreenRant. He's improved a lot.
