The hair is doing that though. It’s just falling down from being powered up.
As for the orbed hand power... what works in comic illustration doesn’t always work in live action.

What?Heard somewhere her hair defies physical law though. Meanwhile it’s totally logical to push a submarine underwater to the surface. That really takes a lot more than just being strong no matter how absurdly superhero level strong..![]()
I think there's more potential in a female Asian superhero like Sailor Moon actually, especially after Wonder Woman practically ripped off her costume!Still irks me to this day no one can get a DBZ movie right. So much potiental

Film visited the set of Captain Marvel (read our full set visit interview with Larson here) and learned that Kelly Sue DeConnick consulted on Captain Marvel. Larson revealed:
Oh gosh. I have to admit that talking with her was so surreal. I feel like I just blacked out. I felt really nervous because it’s this thing that, this woman that she created, that I feel very certain she knows way better than I do. I just was so honored to receive her blessing and to see how excited she was. And that felt like a relief to me. Because she pushed this forward, you know? We wouldn’t be here without her, really. And I’m so grateful for that character that she created, and now we’re just kind of following the breadcrumb trail that she made, you know?

Sounds like they're basically ignoring any version of the character that existed before KSD's version. Which is fine by me as it's her version that made me a fan, but that's gonna ruffle some feathers almost as much as

Those shots do look similar! This shot keeps sticking with me, and in a great way!

I wish they were showing her whole figure, cause I think her right knee is drawn up, and it reminds me of THIS so damn much!

I used to love that place.Still miss blockbuster.

I don't even care that much but I'll be courteous to your post as you were to mine and address your points. You said they were critiquing Halle's "over the top cheesy look".. Sorry if I misinterpreted your meaning, but I was just responding to the initial comment... and yeah, that movie had so much going against it (probably including some underlying racial resentment) that it was going to get savaged no matter what
That's then a reaction to her past performances and a general dislike of the actress, but again has little to do with her "performance" in a trailer
1) I don't quite understand what those words in that order are supposed to mean, and 2) I legitimately never saw that in my time here, but provided with evidence I would be happy to concede. But from what I recall, JLaw was not the focus of most people's skepticism about that movie.
Everyone is welcome to critique trailers and make initial impressions of a film based off of them... it's the level of criticism for this film and this actress that seems unusual, at least amongst other, similarly-marketed MCU films.
Also, no need to condescend, it's an ugly look on anyone... you should try smiling more![]()
Well you know, perhaps that's exactly the problem. We should start considering the possibility that choosing to market the movie as "generic sci-fi starring amnesiac emotionless superhero vs. some underwhelming-looking alien baddies" may have been a mistake.
Only time will tell if it was, but things aren't looking bright right now. The 2nd trailer just kind of came and went, and it seems to have attracted more criticism than praise.
) expressing concerns about the movie.I don't like Jahns that much but he's not an idiot. It's not just nitpicky nerds that aren't feeling these trailers, I'm seeing a lot of reasonable people (and no, I'm not including myself, because I know I'm not reasonable) expressing concerns about the movie.
It's as if Marvel thought they could sell the movie by just hammering people about how FEMALE and STRONG its protagonist is. That's not how it works, you need a hook. And if you ask me the hook should have been "Marvel's sassy, funny new hero finds herself in the middle of a galactic war! Here's her blowing up alien ships to the tune of this popular 90s song!"
But nope, for some reason they seem to believe we really care about the amnesia thing.
Also where in my original post did I say it was needing to be based on one trailer? You literally came up with that on your own. But for the sake of argument...
She has recently become very political while accepting at an awards show stating:It seemed that that was what we were discussing though, people's critiques of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, based basically off trailers alone... a lot of people aren't terribly familiar with her outside of maybe supporting roles in Jump Street or Scott Pilgrim, and she certainly doesn't have the name recognition of the other actresses you mentioned, despite her awards. You also made no mention of her politics or her previous roles before, so I assumed we were still discussing "judging an actor based off a trailer"
but thank you for the slightly more civil response
My own personal reaction was still felt bit like the 1st trailer. The Fury voiceovers, scene with the cat, and prolonged scene with old lady probably unnecessary for further trailers and TV clips that will come up closer to release I think. Some more dynamic emotional scenes to spice things up marketing wise probably wouldn't hurt as well either. That being said, I thought it was a great trailer. The space scenes were exciting. Overall, I still like the 1st better though.![]()
