Captain Marvel Captain Marvel General Discussion and Speculation - Part 9

Just got done with my 8th and final viewing tonight. It’s a sad time, this will no longer be screened in the IMAX theater near me. So I had my farewell tour today with 3 viewings straight in a row.

I still loved every single viewing all the same. This movie connects to me unlike any MCU movie. All the faults, all the quirk and charm and personality. It’s truly a special gem in the MCU and I CAN NOT wait until I can get my hands on the Blu Ray later this year. It’s been a ride, almost living at the theater this month. I’ve never seen a movie in theaters this many times. The only time I ever got close was with The Dark Knight Rises at 5 times. And that is a very special movie to me.

Captain Marvel could never top TDKR, but it is so infinitely rewatchable, I feel like I could go 8 more times and never get sick of it! I wish I could honestly. But money and time, and ending it’s run in IMAX prevent that.

Just wow. I couldn’t have given 2 craps less for Captain Marvel before this film. Now she’s my favorite character in the MCU just like that, and it has me devouring her comics. Bravo Marvel and Disney. I never thought something like this would happen.
8th, wow! That's got to be the Hype record for CM viewings.

I saw it for a third time recently. I've enjoyed it more each time.

Can't wait to see what will happen with the character in the future. While the movie is a satisfying story in itself, I am left with the feeling that there is a lot of potential for growth, which makes sense, given the particular story that the movie decided to tell.

I was impressed by 8 viewings. But I was blown away by three in a row!! Damn dude!

The sequel is going to be amazing. Carol's story feels like it can only get better.

I think I'm gonna go for a 7th and final time tomorrow before it loses its Dolby Atmos screen at my theater.
Wow! You guys put me to shame, I've only seen it twice. Will definitely see it one more time, probably closer to Endgame.

Well that was something as we were developing the script and queuing off of the comics as always, it never even occurred to have a love interest. That’s not what the movie was about. It was about Carol finding herself and growing and making mistakes and being bolstered up by her female mentors and female friends. And that relationship with Maria was very important.

I guess Carol’s relationship with Mar-Vell was supposed to be explored but was probably edited out.

Other than there being women in the movie, I hardly noticed any 'feminine themes' beyond Carol being a woman-pilot in the era of a male-dominated Air Force. Certainly didn't feel like anyone was hitting me in the head with a stick.:cwink:

Damn I can’t imagine watching any movie 8 times in a short period like that, and 3 times in one day back to back.

There’s a new TV spot with Carol
looking at the screens of the ones that got dusted (Wanda and Hope were onscreen).
