Captain Marvel Captain Marvel General Discussion and Speculation - Part 9

Right, I'm about to leave for the cinema! Will probably be a bit early but don't want to risk missing anything with traffic.

Enjoy Iceman! I have a feeling you will.

Worth putting here, my fiancé turned to me about half an hour in and said “so far this is Marvel’s worst movie” but she was won over by the end.

In hindsight it's kind of funny how much time I spent hating on that first trailer, when in reality it was a fairly accurate representation of the final movie. :hehe:

I really enjoyed the film and I enjoy it the more I think about it. I also really like the score personally, listening to it now.

I'll check in the box office section, but alas I mostly bid the adieu. on to the Endgame forums!

Well nothing stood out about it. It seemed very bland - almost "dated" in some regards (no I'm not talking about the 90's setting). I was just really underwhelmed by it given that CM was sort've touted as the lead of the MCU going forward.

I have a free morning so I'm probably gonna take myself to see this in about an hour or so.

Wish I had a Friday morning to myself LOL.

I'm going to try to squeeze CM in tonight after we feast on some "Cardiff Crack" trip tip for my father's bday.

Just got back. The film was good but could have done with a bit more action. Brie and SLJ were awesome. CM is very well setup for future films now.

Anyone else catch the shot for shot of the independence day ship fight? Just a few frames but you could overlay it.

Glad you liked it, but I thought it was action packed! The second act might not have had a ton of action, but the first and third acts were pretty full of action for me

I guess I wanted more Starforce action. The third act action was good but there seemed a long lull in the middle. That doesn’t affect the quality of the film of course, just means not quite as many rewatches as IW or Ragnarok for me.

Anyone else get a poster? My theater handed out the IMAX one

I wonder how many sales Marvel lost because of the backlash from Brie punching an old lady in the first teaser because “it had no context for the general masses”.

Anybody remember that stupid argument?:funny:

That was delightful !! The beginning was a bit rough but then it got good. This is the most I have seen the crowd laugh during MCU film. People applauded at the end of mid credits lol this never happens here! And brie was awesome so lively and fun to watch

Glad you liked it! Brie was awesome indeed

Got my ticket to see it again tonight.

Last night was Dolby digital tonight will be 2d liemax.

One of my main gripes with the movie and it was mentioned in the campea show today was that some of the fight scenes were very darkly lit and were hard to make out. I had a similar issue with Spider man homecomings final fight. Hopefully 4k blu-ray fixes this. like they did for spider-man.
