Do you think you wasted time watching something you had no interest in seeing to begin with or are you glad you gave it a try?

Dude, he's just saying that, for someone who has no interest about a movie, you spend a lot of time talking about it and whatever substance you could bring to the conversation dissipates because you haven't seen it, so any point you try to make is "muh, movie sucks, haven't seen it but movie sucks" which isn't exactly an interesting conversation to have with anyone.

Once again, answer the question I asked you. Not the question you wish I asked you. I didn't ask you "do you think you should see it?" I asked you why you're wasting your time discussing this movie when you didn't see it when your time can be better served somewhere you can add discussion of value?

I can tell you I would not have wasted my time (and by extension everyone else's) in the Fan4stic forum if I didn't see it.

Has it been so long...? Dang, why does it feel like that movie came out just yesterday?

For CM, I thought it had a pretty complete story arc. We start with her training/struggling to control her powers, and progress though gaining personal identity and finding out her true enemies. The end is reached with her a fully fledged warrior at the height of her strength and going off on a new mission.

I like how they paid homage to her character arc that started with Avengers annual 10 without Rogue in this. We got to see her nerfed, with amnesia and go Binary as she reclaimed her life.

I have to say, her powers didn't really wow me. I thought the fight in the ship in the third act was kind of messy, the best part was her taking out the ships and missiles. I suppose they could develop them more in Endgame and the sequels but she didn't have me feeling like "Thanos is in trouble now!" Lol

finally got around to see this. Just like Solo, this is the movie that I can't really judge on quality basic. It's very very entertaining and I enjoy every minutes of it. There are flaws: this movie really doesn't add anything to the MCU. They didn't really dig into Carol that much, in fact we barely comprehend her character. The Skrull and Kree story is quite confusing,... But overall, it's too enjoyable that I really don't care about these setbacks.

Speaking of which, since I don't read Cap Marvel. Aren't the Skrull suppose to be bad and the Kree are good people in the comic ? Was really confused that it was the other way.

In the comics they are both bad. The Skrulls were originally more peaceful though until the Kree started the war and they became more warlike to survive.

I wonder if they'll ever do the Rogue thing. Like, imagine if they introduce a teenage Rogue in phase 4 or 5 whenever they sneak the X-men in. By the time Rogue is an adult, in like phase 6 or 7, I imagine Brie Larson will be ready to leave the role. Rogue could be her sort-of successor, permanently absorbing Captain Marvel's powers after Captain Marvel sustains a mortal injury while defeating a super-powerful threat.

Although, I guess now that Captain Marvel is so OP, it would make Rogue really unbalanced on the X-men team. Unless they just give Rogue her own solo series of movies instead.

For me it felt pretty complete. If it was the first as a stand-alone and never had any sequels I would still be happy because it didn't feel open-ended.

As for Fury, I actually liked what they did there. Like at the end of the movie, Fury is letting people think it was a bad situation which ups his bad-ass cred. And also, it was a cat! Cats are known for attacking without provocation. But apparently a Frenik scratch is a loooot worse than a cat scratch!

Well, the reason it felt half-finished to me is because

It largely abandons the cosmic setting and the larger Kree/Skrull War about 1/3 of the way into the film. That wasn't a problem in and of itself, but the last 5 minutes of the movie reminded us with Ronan that that plot point was still there and waiting to be resolved. Plus I just really wanted to see more of it.

Well the MCU is probably going to outlive all of us, so we may as well think ahead. Disney sure is, what with setting up Miles Morales, Cassandra Lang, and now potentially Hawkeye's daughter as children in the MCU that can eventually grow up to take on the mantles of former heroes.

Edit: Although now I just remembered that this movie introduced Monica Rambeau, so that might end up being Captain Marvel's successor...but I guess there's no reason they couldn't have her AND Rogue with Captain Marvel's powers. Maybe we'll get a cool fight out of it. The first female on female hero vs. hero fight.

Edit 2: Although now it just occured to me that Monica would already be an adult in the present-day movies. So maybe they're setting her up to be more of a sidekick to Captain Marvel, rather than a replacement. Captain Marvel's Rhodey, basically.

I finally watched Captain Marvel and I thought it was a decent movie. I thought the Skrulls were great and Talos is my favourite character in this movie. I enjoyed Samuel L Jackson's performance in this movie as you could tell that Samuel L Jackson was having a lot of fun in this flick and Nick Fury being the comic relief in this movie was fine to me. Its great seeing Coulson in a Marvel film again.

But I hate the way Fury loses his eye, it so stupid and I'm annoyed that scene was played for laughs. It kinda ruins the mystery of this character

The twist wasn't all that shocking to me as I pretty much figrued it out at the beginning of the movie but I still liked it. I haven't really connected with Carol Danvers as I find her to be quite emotionally distant and she's just a sarcastic stoic warrior which isn't really appealing to me. The movie often tells the audience that she's too emotional but I never really got a sense of that and I wish the movie explored more on Carol's actual feelings or wishes.

At the beginning Yon-rogg was teaching Carol that she can't rely on her powers. She had to find that strength somewhere else. But instead of learning in the training scene she... blasts him. And in the end she does the same thing proving that she had no character growth which was disappointing to me

This movie wasn't for me but I'm happy for those that love this movie and the character herself. I have faith that the Russo brothers will make her more interesting and more likable in Endgame. Overall Captain Marvel was just 'meh'.
