So sad to see this but as I said in my first post on this thread just after her heart attack, I was very concerned by the time involved in getting her medical help and the fact that her not breathing and if it was true that it was cardiac arrest (her heart stopped) that the lack of oxygen to the brain for that amount of time may have meant if she had lived it would have been as an invalid. Or if there was significant damage to the heart muscle, that could cause other complications.
I was hopeful yet concerned by the reports that were coming out. Usually if someone has survived a heart attack they are at least alert after a catheterization has cleared the blockage. So reports that she was "stable" don't mean much if she wasn't fully alert or had significant brain and/or heart damage.
This is as significant a death to Star Wars as Leonard Nimoy was a couple years ago to Star Trek, but more tragic because she was so young, but I know first hand that it doesn't mean much as my mother passed at 62 to cancer. Even more-so I feel terrible for her family and friends, and send my deepest prayers and condolences.
My hope now is that the family have privacy so they can grieve for a loved one. I am glad that we got to see her one last time as the princess we grew up with.
God speed Carrie!
Yeah. That 15 minutes before they could get a pulse boded ill. I wanted to be optimistic, but had a very bad feeling about it. My wife used to work at the UCLA medical center and her take was that it didn't look good.
This is the sad part. All we have now are memories and very little to look forward to. I don't even know how I'm going to feel when I watch Ep 8. In particular, my heart goes out to her family and those closest to her. We are all suffering some level of heartbreak. Imagine how they feel.
