May I take a break from Norman to suggest Dennis Haysbert as Robbie Robertson from the Daily Bugle?
He's a good choice. I didn't care for the Robbie in the Raimi films. Robbie needs to have a presence and authority to him, with a fatherly feel.
And how about Jane Seymour for Mary-Jane's aunt?
Can tell where the genes come from
Um, no. Have you seen Aunt Anna?
I'd say, for Aunt Anna, go with the original inspiration for MJ: Ann-Margret!
Sadly, she's probably out of the age range for the role. Still, she looks stunning!
OK, I'm going to go against what I said about looking like Aunt Anna, but this is an inspired choice if they want to go this route. A nice nod to the original inspiration for MJ in the comics.
For Aunt May I like the idea of Meryl Streep, Diane Wiest, or Glenn Close (but of course, we can't go with Close because of GOTG).
For Uncle Ben, I like the idea of Kevin Kline.
JJJ I could see J.K. Simmons returning to the role (he still does the voice in Ultimate and he's the only person I could see returning from the previous incarnations). But, if we go new, Bob Odenkirk would be a good choice.
Not sure about the young people, particularly Pete, because I'm not as familiar with younger talent. Though I like the idea of Anton Yelchin as Harry Osborn.
And, although I'm trying to keep an open mind and not get stuck on anyone or anything, I'm really hooked on the idea of Bryan Cranston as Norman Osborn. I want him cast and introduced in the first movie and build up the character before becoming the Green Goblin in later movies (done accurately, using that imp like mask I see on youtube that moves with your expression). And also build him up as a big bad in the MCU, possibly doing an adaption of Dark Reign. Seeing him as a competitor to Tony, oh man, I'm getting my hopes up.
(Well, I got my hopes up about Spidey joining the MCU, and now look...)
