Indeed he was. Any ideas on what Marvel characters Colin could play?

Otto Octavius?
The Gentleman?

Otto I could maybe see, but I'm not enthused. The Gentleman isn't really a character I care to see again to be honest.

Is there anyone in the Marvel universe, but isn't a Spider-man character that Colin would be a fit for?

I can't think of anyone.

Don't know offhand, but he could play Herbert Landon from the Spidey animated series:

Is he an actual character from the comics? He's such an obvious Two-Face knockoff that it's hilarious and shameful at the same time.

I don't recall him showing up in the comics. I think he's purely in the animated series as far as I know. And yes, he is a Two-Face knockoff.

I mean many characters are influenced by other characters like Man-Bat is for Lizard or Black Cat is for Catwoman.

But that one is just shameful haha!

I liked Landon in the cartoon (voiced by David Warner, so that helps), but I couldn't really see him making the leap to movies. Though I wouldn't say never if was written well. He could make a good character in the comics if they wanted to do a similar story as a crossover with the X-men.

Though I can't say I really see Firth as him though.

They could have Herbert Landon not as a Two-Face clone but just as one of Fisk's associates. Even if he were just a normal human being, he could be interesting. He seemed to have a few connections to the Spider Slayer.

Well it would be a nice easter egg if he was a financial backer of Smythe and his Spider Slayers if they ever went with Smythe.

I'd prefer them to stick with comic book villains. There are so many to choose from.

Me too. And Spider-Man`s got one of the most impressive rogues gallery in comics, no need for discount Two-Face.

I don't think Landon would be anything more than a side-story or henchman in a movie. He wasn't anything more than that in the cartoon he appeared in.

Though thinking of his appearance. He was largely created for the X-men crossover (I would liked to have seen more of those). I don't think he started off as a mutant, but he was certainly turned into one artificially if I recall. While that could be problematic they could possibly just swap that element out and make him more related to the 'miracles' or whatever they're calling metahumans in the MCU. He could make a potential Agents of SHIELD episode villain or minor villain in a MCU film that wants to further establish the mythos of these 'miracles' in some way.

Just a random thought. We'll probably never see the guy anyway, but I guess he could hypothetically work.

I would say though, if they're going to have him as an easter egg financial backer and it's only a small scene, then they should just get David Warner for the role.

I would love that. That guy is great.

as I recall he was part of the mutant agenda storyline crossover, with the x-men... so not should if he would even fall under the spider-man rights or with the X-mens

Being an obscure character created for the 90's Spider-man cartoon I wouldn't expect him to be specifically accounted for in any rights deal, but if the characters from the cartoon are accounted for anywhere in any rights deal then I would guess they'd come under Spider-man rights, including Landon despite his storyline relation to the X-men and mutants in general.

I don't think Landon was a Two Face rip off in more than appearance,IIRC. I mean they didn't trade on the character having a duel nature or anything. They just saw B: TAS Two Face and thought "Man,that design is two good to pass up." :woot:

I see what you did there! ;)

Well, yeah I'm speaking about his looks in this case, I'm fully aware that he isn't a Two-Face ripoff in character. They'd need to ditch that look, is what I mean.

When it comes to character design he must be one of the most obvious "copy and paste" ones out there haha!
