So hard to decide how to cast for midtown crew as we have no clue range they will go and age of some characters.

Ehhhhhhhhhh. He's in the right age area, but I personally just don't get the hype for him. Just my personal opinion.

:funny: Still, I do prefer the idea of her being MJ personally. That said, if it isn't her, I think Odeya Rush would be a great alternative... :hmr: :ilv:
Well that's all good man. Dylan has a really unique blend of awkward geeky humor. He's charming and charismatic and yet can still be a dork, much like chris pratt. He also looks exactly like Peter Parker to me, more than any other candidate ive ever seen. So that's why I like the dude and think he fits like a glove. But hey your opinion is your opinion and that's awesome

And yes, I think the red hair suits her much better than blonde imo, plus her personality is on point too

Put together a list of young actresses we could see being mentioned for the Midtown cast

Kaitlyn Dever: 18

Zendeya: 18 (She's 5'10 though)

Chloe Grace Moretz: 18

Kiernan Shipka: 15

Elle Fanning: 17

Lily-Rose Depp: 16

Thought I would just throw some names out there since I'm bored.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. If by some off-chance Dylan were to be cast in the role, I'd get over it and be glad for the folks who wanted him in the role so badly.

He does look like Peter, but I think part of my problem is that maybe he's a bit too good looking for the role. Peter grows up to become a hottie, sure, but I like the idea that he's a bit of an ugly duckling-type of character. I just find it more interesting.

It's like how people have pointed out that just because an actor is wearing glasses doesn't automatically make him look like Peter Parker. I think there's a bit of an emotive quality too. A uniqueness. I think that's why I'm more intrigued by options like Holland or Plummer.

Agreed. I really like the idea of casting her in the role.

Ugh. Cannot stand Zendaya. Keep her away from any comic movie.

Agreed, especially with the bolded part.

Eh, I never saw that as a problem. Ever since he's been stiles, I see him as a dork. And not that special in the looks department like say Evans and Hemsworth who are practically models. At least not any more handsome than andrew was imo

Sold.

As the self-appointed Leader of the Annasophia revolution, I approve

Here's a quick one I made of her:

That wouldn't quite be the shade of red I'd want on her. I think that one is a little too light still, as is the one quoted in the image above too. I prefer MJ's red to look more auburn for once. I can just see this thing working its way to strawberry blonde like Kirsten Dunst or Gwyneth Paltrow have.

But AnnaSophia does have a great personality for MJ, not to mention her looks.

Occasionally she reminds me a little bit of Natalie Portman, like here or in other expressions:

If we ever see Miles, what do you guys think about Donald Glover playing his dad?It would be in 10 or 15 years so he would probably be old enough and it would be nice for him since hes a big fan of spidey (and inspiration for Miles).

Whoops lol, thought I was looking at her IMDB page but it must have been on someone else. It didn't seem right:cwink:

We'll cross that bridge when and if we get there, but not a bad idea

How about Caitlin Blackwood?

Caitlin Blackwood played young Amy Pond on Doctor Who, right? She could definitely do a good job, provided she's able to do a good American accent. Blackwood would definitely be a solid choice for a more Ultimate-ish Mary Jane Watson.

I still have a hard time to judge midtown cast. Since we are not sure yet with peter. If we get lintz or plummer. Then ya I expect the rest to be 14 to 18 range to better suit them.

But if it's tom who I really really hope is. I still say he is the best of the bunch. They could likely cast a little younger 16 to 18 to a little older 19 to 22 for some.

Well, I hate the High School setting but I'll give this a try anyway...

Spider-Man: Charlie Rowe
Mary Jane Watson: Bella Throne
Gwen Stacy: Elle Fanning
Harry Osborn: Asa Butterfield
Felicia Hardy: India Eisley (Older version: Nina Dobrev)
Flash Thompson: Cody Christian
Betty Brant: Hailee Steinfeld
J Jonah Jameson: James Caan

Norman Osborn: Jason Issacs
Doc Ock: Richard Armitage
Venom: No idea
Carnage - Robert Knepper
Kraven The Hunter: Manu Bennett
Sandman: Adam Baldwin

With this horrible HS angle and going so young with the actors it really discombobulates me. To me, the only actors that really kind of stand out acting wise from this age group are Asa Butterfield and Haliee Steinfeld but I don't think either fit the main characters you would normally want the best actors for (Peter/Mary Jane). The rest of them all seem about the same in terms of acting ability to me, not alot of standouts because this age range just isn't ready for prime time IMO. They all just look and sound like little kids to me. Most of them need a few more years of seasoning. I stole the Flash Thompson casting from you guys because I have no clue, most of the actors in this range look too whimpy to play a bully. Never seen him act but he's bigger than the other kids so whatever.

Unless they go older, I can't think of anyone that I'd want to see play Venom. I just don't see any of these really young actors being able to pull off a convincing villain to be honest. It's best they hold off on Venom as long as they can, because right now none of these young actors can pull it off.

Also, I've always had more trouble casting Spider-Man villains than most other characters villains for some reason. With most other villains I can come up with several actors for each role but given the traditional age range and appearance of Spider-Man's villains it's just harder for me for some reason. This is about the best I can come up with off the top of my head for this High School setting.

Thst is my problem too with hs setting. I don't mind it being set in hs. It's just I not to verse on under 20 actots to judge who I like or think could fit x role. Which still I bet the midtown cast be a bit looser on age then peter casting. At least for say flash kong liz and sally and maybe randy if he is used. Could be a little older ie 18 to 22 yrs old. And mj gwen and harry probably a yr or two older or younger for them.

That was Karen Gillan and she was in GOTG...and she's too old :o

I'm not 100% sure if you're joking or not, so I won't post what I was going to post. :oldrazz:
