Gambit IS American. He's cajun, and had a cajun accent in Origins.
Storm is American, too, actually.
Since when has Storm been American?
She was born in Manhattan. Then moved to Egypt.
She is definitely of African decent.
On her mothers side, yes. Her father was American, and she was born in America.
...and has an American name.
Agreed, I think that whole rumor was ********.
I really doubt it. My guess would be a recruiting scene or something. While I do think he will be through out the film like members of the hellfire club were in FC, he will probably only be important to one action set piece.
Anything beyond that would be a plus and awesome. But knowing this franchise, how many characters are already here, and the reports... I wouldn't get my hopes up at all. Been a let down with too many character roles.
Edit: sorry may have read that out of context
Ororo is an American name?
Munroe is a fairly average American name yes.
This kinda confirms quicksilver in the past scenes.Well assuming they are filming the past stuff right now. Also it seems Pietro will have a bigger role than the one action scene most comic book movie people have been saying.
Looks as if the 70s X-Men are recruiting.
That's because Munroe belonged to her American father. Her African mother gave her the name Ororo.
Or this could be all part of the same sequence, to showcase his speed (ie he goes from his house to where Magneto is, then goes on to perform whatever elaborate act that requires his particular ability).
This new picture is a sign that Quicksilver will be in the 70s period and hopefully he won't be used for just 1 action scene.
I hope not. I want them to just focus on Pietro.
But if Wanda is included, I hope they do a good job introducing those two together.
Yeah, I want Pietro to be focused on as well.
It wasn't 'most comic book movie people' saying that. It was reported by one of the movie sites, I think it was Hitfix. That report always seemed off to me, and it always did sound a bit suspicious that Singer would stick the character only in one action scene, though we did see that sort of thing in X2 with Colossus, Siryn (screaming like an alarm) and Kitty (dropping through the floor).
Yeah, it was a little suspicious to think that even though the production hadn't released one iota of plot information, they would choose to disclose that bit to entertainment news outlets. I wasn't completely buying it either. I think this pic shows that there's at least one other scene...
Well the accent in the first x-men movie and the way she was dressed did hint at it.
Yeah, but with those he cast 3 unknown actors to be glorified extras. Evan Peters may not be a huge star, but he's certainly a more high profile name than Shawn Ashmore was in X1.
Bryan Singer wanted the mansion to feel like a school not just be the main X-Men team.Plus
he thought It was way to sneak In characters who could be used more In future.
Iceman and Pyro got bigger roles In X2.
Colossus In X2 was intended to be beefed up in future.
Evan Peters Is not the kind of actor you get for just 1 or 2 scenes. If that was case they would hire a local actor. That alone makes you think there Is more to quicksilver.
Shawn Ashmore has now been in 4 films because they liked what he brought as Iceman.
Daniel Cudmore was keep as Colossus for last stand since they felt he had right look for colossus and since they weren't doing much why bother recasting him.
Hardly. Not to disparage his fans or anything, and I know he's a good actor and all, but he's hardly that big of a name. He's had one success under his belt in American Horror Story, which while a critical success, doesn't pull in huge numbers. They're big for the FX network yes, but in the grand scheme of things, most other shows would be canned shortly after pulling in the kind of numbers it does. So no, taking a small role in a movie like this is absolutely not beneath Evan. He still has bills to pay like everyone else.
