Chadwick Boseman is Black Panther! - Part 6

I prefer the Civil War costume, I felt it was perfect.

I need to see more of the new costume, but right now I don't care for it very much. Looks like some of those terrible concepts for first costume. Hopefully the CGI touch ups will make it look better.
They released concept art of rejected costumes?

thanks! thank God we got what we got for civil war!
Did the dud who designed the 2018 costume also design the first one you posted? Cause it seems like many elements of the first one you posted are in the new one crossed over with the leg and arm elements of the 2016 civil war costume

I like the one on the left better overall, but the mask looks better in the one of the left. I don't mind them changing it a little because it's not too far away from what we saw in Civil War. It's the same type of feel with both of them.

I wished they would release an hd official pic of the new suit I wanna see the details on the mask and the lenses more than anything

It looks neat but it's kind of overcomplicated. Reminds me more of the Predator or something like that than a superhero.

The concept looks ridiculous. Looks nothing like BP and the mouth area looks more like a beaks looking gas mask.

Don't agree that it looks nothing like BP...It's an all black bodysuit with cat ears on the mask. Glad they didn't go with that particular look though.

I don't think it looks bad but I'm glad they went with what they did as what we got was perfect!

The trailer for Marshall looks real good. Though seem more like an action thriller than a simple biopic. A nice test for Chadwick to show his box office reliability before BP debuts.

That's because it's more crime thriller than a biopic; according to Hudlin.

Not really considering that most actors don't really draw in audiences, biopics generally don't bring in huge audiences, and to date the biggest film Boseman has been in is Captain America Civil War.

Most of the actors in the MCU aren't actually draws outside of the MCU.

Sigh. This is probably the 100th time i will repeat that Marvel doesn't need bankable stars anymore and can carry movies by their brand alone........

Can't say they've ever needed them. Iron Man is what revived Downey's career...and while he was a respected actor he was no box office star before that movie. Chris Evans definitely wasn't putting butts in seats as a lead before Cap (and hasn't really done it outside of Cap), and Hemsworth was an unknown.

True. But it doesn't hurt his prospects when he's not in a MCU film. If he can carry over attention from BP to this film, it will only be a benefit to him and his career. Though I sure hope it's the last biopic he's doing. I kinda wanna see him in a romantic comedy.

I'll def consider seeing it after the RT score.

Biopics aren't exactly crowd-pleasers. Anyway success outside of the MCU is always welcome but it doesn't really matter. Hemsworth has a string of flops outside the MCU yet Ragnarok will be more than fine.

Indeed though to be fair he's quite limited as an actor. Boseman has more range, though is offered fewer films. That's the industry though.

Hopefully the success he has with BP and non-BP roles will continue to show diversity opening up arenas in Hollywood.

IW footage indicates Bucky and BP with the Wakanda army. Wonder what that might tell us about BP film?

Seems liek this really will have a strong tie in with IW. Really can't wait to see the Wakandan army out in full force.

O/T but his new film "Message from the King" was released by Netflix today. He plays a South African.

And as usual Boseman is excellent in it. Saw it earlier today. Such a phenomenal actor. The scene where he goes to the morgue and keeps his emotions in check and straight after when he cries was something many actors can learn from.

Good performance, just a crappy film. It started off well but just dived in the second/third act. But I admire he does dramatic films and isn't trying to make the easy $$$ with romantic comedies or anything.

I'm willing to bet he'd like to do an occasional romantic comedy, but he likely doesn't even get offered those roles.

Sadly, like many other films, I am betting the dearth of scripts green lit for black leads in such movies doesn't help.
