The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 3: The Streets of Mos Espa (Spoiler Discussion)

Really enjoyed this episode, seeing people who didn't like it and I don't get it, that Wookie wasn't going to be stopped with force, damn he took on the whole Palace.

And a Rancor! And Danny Trejo! Great stuff IMO.

I'll be honest this was probably my least favorite episode so far, but I didn't entirely dislike it because it definitely had its moments. I am pretty shocked this was directed by Rodriguez himself though because his Boba Fett episode of The Mandalorian: Season 2 was much better directed in terms of the action sequences and I'm starting to really notice that the momentum/pacing of this show still remains to be a mess at times IMO.

That speeder chase was just bad and while it was cool seeing Black Krrsantan take on the whole palace and show just how much of a tank he really is I found the sequence itself to be kind of a letdown and now that I know that Rodriguez was handling that character that makes it even more disappointing.

The biggest highlights of this episode for me was seeing my girl Sophie Thatcher from Yellowjackets finally make it big and getting that Disney money as well as Stephen Root and Danny Trejo being thrown in there.

The Rancor stuff was kind of cool too, but I hope the payoff is worth all this build-up.

Yeah, I thought this was pretty bad from a writing and Directing perspective. I don't get how both Faverau and Rodriguez could drop this bland and low. Both have shown better for SW. I think this series is rushed with Disney plus just wanting content asap . There's been so many better stories written for decades and examples on how to do good SW action.

Boba's new gang would be more at home at Dex's Diner as opposed to Tatooine imo. Felt out of place here and that speeder chase was dreadful. Especially when compared to last weeks Train hijack set piece.

BK really peaked my interest in the series but that was underwhelming too. Glad they showed him as a straight up beast you shouldn't mess with, sadly the whole thing was just lazy.

When Aphra shows, I hope it's with some better material.

Each episode is getting slowly better. How many episodes will this show have in total? Don't want it to end too soon before we get to the best stuff.

I found this to be the most enjoyable episode so far. Black K vs. Boba in his underwear was hilariously awesome.

I also take back what I said about this show having a weak supporting cast. Danny Trejo makes up for that all by himself. Speaking of, I never thought I'd find a fully grown Rancor to be cute, but here we are. Boba's comment about wanting to ride it gave me flashbacks to a pretty obscure game for the original Playstation called Star Wars Demolition, in which you could actually ride on a Rancor as one of the playable characters/vehicles in a destruction derby.

I also got a kick out of seeing Milton Waddams/Bill Dauterive/Fuches show up in the Star Wars universe.

Apparently this has a 7 episode run. I had assumed it was 8 before I double checked.

"We tried to kill you.

Sorry about that.

Here's a rancor."

Ok then!

No better make up gift than a rancor.

Trejo was a nice surprise too. I don't know if it was already known he was going to be here but I didn't know.

Speaking for me, the Wookie fight and the Rancor were the high points of the episode but there was a disjointed vibe about it. I thought there was something forced about the cyborg punk gang, from their design down to their interactions with Boba. Also I legitimately can't stand the delivery of lines from David Pasquesi as the Majordomo. I really liked him in Veep but his line readings are less farcical in that show than in Boba.

It's not a terrible episode and glad some folks are liking it. If it was a 9 or 10 episode season I would feel less concerned about it.

My brother called it the slowest high speed chase, ever. :funny:
Look, Space Vespas aren't going to be setting any records. You buy them for the looks.
I'm glad others noticed the speed of the "speeders" in the chase. I didn't mind the scene but it felt like it was in slo-mo and very undramatic for a chase as a result. :D

Thanks. Glad it's not 6 like Hawkeye at least. Feels like that could be enough as long as they get to the best stuff from next episode.
I had assumed that the live action Marvel shows were keeping to a 6-episode per season run (with the exception being WandaVision) and the live action Star Wars shows were keeping to an 8-episode run per season based on The Mandalorian but I guess it's more of a "however long we need to tell the story" situation here.

As it should be IMO, but as long as they get going early enough on the shorter ones and the long ones don't waste time on stuff that isn't worth it.

If you exclude the chase scene, this was a pretty good episode.
Duke's of Hazard had better chase scenes, and they literally drove around in circles every ep.,till one final jump.

If we're lucky we'll get the final easteregg, as Boss Fett settles in, those Tatooine boys Bigs and Luke jr. show up running illegal sunshine "water" across county lines.:oldrazz:

I get where the Mighty Cyborg Vespa Rangers might annoy people. They feel Star Wars but they don't feel Tatooine like the Swoop Gang. They would fit in more on Corellia IMO.

THAT BEING SAID...I love that Boba has taken them and now they're his eyes and ears in Mos Espa. Gotta have some boots on the ground and keep in the loop of what's going on. Also all they needed was a fifth Vespa in black to form Vespa Voltron (we have Green, Blue, Red and yellow).

LOVED the BK fight. Also pour one out for the Super Gamo bros...they be loyal. Am looking forward to BK joining the crew in the next episode or so.

10/10 Dany Trejo Rancor Tamer/Trainer. *Chef's Kiss*
(I'm calling the Rancor Machete now)

Also I think we can finally say that the Rancor is the official sigil of Clan Fett between Omega and Muchi and Boba and his new goodest boi.

Millage is gunna very on this episode, some parts were rough and it went by fast. But I felt unlike episode one, this got the plot moving. We now know the Pykes are the current problem, (though im unsure if they're going to keep being a problem after Ep. 4)

I believe Obi-Wan is 5- 6 and Andor is 12.

This weeks episode was a bit on the weaker side, especially compared to how great last week was. I think the changing of directors each week can lead to that though sometimes, I had similar feelings to The Mando at times where one episode would be a lot stronger than the next or just an uneven feel at times to the whole thing, I think something similar is happening here.

There was still some good stuff to pick out but a lot felt a little uneven again and lacked a bit of urgency at times, especially in the action department which at times feels stiff and a bit choppy, especially the "comedy bike chase" which felt off like most have said. In fact that whole street gang are doing nothing for me and generally dont fit in the with asthetic or feel of the rest of the show, very odd. Its a shame they seem to be the replacement for the Tuskens now, sad to see them go in the way they were off'ed, off screen.

The Rancor bits were really good though and Danny Trejo was a nice addition as a rancor trainer, more of him would be great.

The Black Krrsantan fight wasnt bad but again suffered a bit from the choppy and odd energy, he seems like a proper BA wookie though and menacing taking on about 10 at once doesnt phase him, no doubt we will see him again soon.

Hopefully next week picks up again and is more like episode 2 and I guess we are done with the flashbacks now so the main plot can kick in from here out and hopefully come to a satisfying end in the next 4 episodes.
