Chapter 64 - Hysterical Blindness - 10/12/09

Wow, today's ep was pretty good, this show is starting to seriously shape up. I still think this is probably gonna be the last season of the show but who knows, maybe they'll pull off a miracle and make this show really work.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure this is going to be the last season even if this all leads up to something spectacular. I guess at least the show might be able to go out with a bang at least.

I'm glad Peter didn't figure out Emma's power first. One problem I always had with this show is it feels like the power absorbers, mimickers or stealers often use character's abilities more impressively then the characters themselves. Like Peter figuring out how to use Isaac's powers without drugs before Isaac did.

Really liked the episode.
If they keep up the quality, this season could be just as good as the first. I'm really liking the more realistic grounded story approach that's more character oriented than science fiction comic booky plots. Did anybody else think that piano duet was a beautiful scene? It's cool that they have powers that are not just for fighting methods but ones that elicit an emotional and beautiful response.
I totally did not see that twist coming at the end and it has me interested in what the carnie's endgame is. The only plot I was really bored by was the Sylar interrogation but I did like his ending scene.

I thought it was a beautiful scene too. I really like Emma already and I think she and Peter make an interesting couple.

I agree that this season might be as good as the first but then again good episodes always make me get overly optimistic. I feel a lot more hopeful now then I did after last week's rather dull episode.

It's been a good season so far , I just hope we get a satisfying finale. The last couple have been really dissapointing.

I think it's great that Ernie Hudson's on the show . I hope that lasts for some time.

This show is almost beginning to feel brand new again. You can tell the directorial approach this season is vastly different than the past couple of seasons. I do like how they're taking the grounded approach instead of going all over the place with crazy plots. Let's just hope they truly know what they're doing with the plot.

Indeed, let's hope that Emma doesn't ride the path of Peter's former love interests:

Symone: Killed
Caitlyn: Stuck in an alternate future to never be mentioned again

They wouldn't kill off Emma though. She's so sweet and charming with her sign language and subtitles.

Finally, an interesting episode. I'm really starting to like Samuel. He reminds me of Magneto. And they should make Claire wear dresses more often.

I've got sort of a nitpicky question though...how did NO ONE notice Peter using his super speed to save Emma from the bus? I mean he did it in plain sight in the middle of the new york streets, you mean nobody noticed anything? I dont really mind, i just think its funny cause you'd think somebody woulda noticed something.

Well no one noticed Daphne in Volume 3 when she was running around places like Hiro's office. It's been established that speedsters go fast enough to avoid sight.

Am I the only who thinks that this Season so far sucks reallly bad?? Why is this called "Heroes"?? shouldn't it be called "Clueless"?

why does peter pick up certain powers, but not others? I'm pretty certain he gave the Irish dude a pretty firm handshake last week... so why does he lose the running power this week?

Well Peters doing Heroic stuff this Volume :csad:
I'd call it Greek due to Claires lame plots.
I liked the episode but Claires plot was putting me to sleep. Every thing else was great, I was actually rooting for Sylar. Than we have those cute Emma/Peter scenes, I am really liking Peter this Volume.

There are more Heroes present in this season then the previous season by far. The fact that even one character has become a hero is a step up from everyone whining and switching alliances and doing everything other then helping people.

That bothered me a great deal this episode. It is actually a HUGE continuity error other than that anyone else love the scene with the Chello?

Somebody suggested that Peter only absorbs other people's powers without thinking when he's in an excited emotional state. That might make sense but then again we might run into a contradiction of that eventually.

Might? We will run into more continuity errors in the future. Still this episode was pretty rockin'. Also, I've never vehemently hated Claire's storylines as much as you folks so I certainly appreciated the little twist. In fact this invisible chick thing might give Claire a real reason to be involved with the larger story as a whole.

Peter unwillingly took Emma's power. I guess I was wrong in the previous topic. It was a plothole that he didn't take Samuel's.

It might very well be a plot hole, but I took it as since Peter had his current power of super-speed activated, he was unable to control the exchange between him and Emma.

no love for the "greatest american hero" theme song?

Hah. I started singing along and my wife asked what the hell I was doing. Having a William Katt or Robert Culp cameo would have been perfect...maybe as the music teacher!

I mean its not that hard to fix though, one line of dialogue. " I can absorb my powers when i need a new one or I feel like having a new one." Nathan, "okay pete.". BOOM that simple.

Well, William Katt already guest starred on Heroes as the reporter that bugged Tracey before he was frozen to death and shattered.

And I agree that the error wouldn't take much to fix. It is annoying.

How did the invisible chick get to the Carnival and back to the University in a matter of seconds???

I'm guessing either their teleporter did it or it's done in a manner connected to the way they made the carnival disappear before when the police arrived.

My assumption is that it's a real "traveling" Carnival.
