Chapter 75 - The Art of Deception

NBC only ordered 19 episodes for this season, a drastic cut from season 3... yesterdays show was #17.

Viewers have a right to ****h when they put this garbage up

it is terrible. So parkmans method of protecting himself and the world from sylar is building a brick wall in front of sylars body? really?! you couldnt think of a better alternative. like dumping him in the ocean, chopping his head off. I mean Parkman busted out of his own nightmare thing, if sylar did, did he honestly think a brick wall was gonna stop sylar even tho sylar can fling people around with his finger.

i also love how they keep talkin about nathan like he was some sort of saint. did they forget he tried to turn them all over to the government.

im seriously tryin to enjoy the show cuz i watched all the seasons already, but they just keep giving me a reason to hate it even more.

You don't think Season 4 is even slightly better then 2 or 3?

Better is relative. Is involuntary manslaughter better than pre-meditated murder? It is all relative. Season 2 had a reason to be not so great, the writer's strike. Season 3 was just awful and this season is trying to be better but it is using the foundation of what they did wrong. The writing isn't intelligent, the plots are so predictable, most of the characters are annoying now, and they still can't get away from Sylar. It's just annoying.

I thought of this during the episode. It made me giggle to think that the writers have already forgotten what occurred last season.

^when a family member dies, you tend to put aside there wrong doings and try to remember the good things... sure he was a *****e bag but he was still family to most of them.

I don't get why people keep excusing Season 2 because of the writer's strike. In the end, it was the studio's decision to scrap Exodus at the very last second and jump straight to Villains when Season 3 started. Season 2 was unpopular compared to Season 1 when it was running so when the writer's strike occurred the studio decided it would be better to use the opportunity to start anew. And when Season 3 started they made the format less character and story focused and more focused on action and plot twists because everyone complained S2 was too boring. It's the main reason the show fell from grace: listening too much to the fanbase. That's the reason Sylar is still alive even though thematically it would have been perfect to kill him at the end of S1.

I would put S4 way above the previous 2 Seasons because they're at least back to focusing on characters and plot again.

This episode has brought me closer to quitting Heroes than I've ever been.

The frustrating turn of events with Samuel's deception, Matt's ridiculous decision to brick Sylar up in his own basement, and Claire still delaying her inevitable jump in the sack with Gretchen has me just about ready to give up for good.

1. He's a villian, its what he does:oldrazz:

2. yeah, that was kinda silly

3. Building sexual tension, as soon as they hook up there's no more mystery. Until then, all the horny adolescents (and horny adults) will keep tuning in to see if it finally happens. :woot:

I really liked this episode.
It think Samual's progression is the best weve seen on this show. it built gradually and we could see a slight change every episode. rather than just suddenly turning to the extreme like Sylars usually does.

Lydia's death is the first death that ive actually felt for. I loved her and hoped shed have lasted a bit longer but it was perfect for Sam's goal.

I still can not think what the finale will include, but its gotten me excited.

Is that what it was? Sexual tension between Grecthen and Claire? I didn't really get that vibe.

Of all the things to complain about you pick Samuel's deception? The matt brick wall Sylar thing was plain stupid. I'll agree with that. Why the heck would you hide the dude in your own house. But Sam's whole trick he turned on Noah was great.

Samuel is the only real thing that's been keeping me so interested in this season.

Also, something that's really helped me enjoy this season more is that when I watch it, I pretend that season 2 and 3 haven't hapened. I simply view it as season two, but it's jumped forward in time. Kind of the feeling you get when you read a long running X-men comic. They make random references to events that happened in the universe years and years ago, but you don't always have a good handle on what they actually did. You just know that they did stuff and they have lots of experience under their belt.

That's how I view this season. Basically.

Episode sucked on so many levels. I missed the episode before but this makes me not want to go back and watch it at all. I hope it doesnt get renewed because it doesnt deserve it.

2 episodes left and all I can think of is what the hell has actually happened so far this season?

Just feels like a whole lot of nothing.

It's been very forgettable.

i just hope that charlie doesn't get forgotten and lost in time like peter did to Kaitlyn in season 2.

samuel was the only good thing in the episode to me. Heck, the whole season.

Claire continues to get more and more boring and annoying.
Peter and the deaf chick...yeah...not much happening there to make it interesting.
HRG once again wastes time so the episode can make it through an hour (roughly)

Basically...the plot has been about as pointless as the characters...nothing really happens in the story, just like nothing happens with the characters worth mentioning.

i just hope that charlie doesn't get forgotten and lost in time like peter did to Kaitlyn in season 2.

Well Kaitlyn was only forgotten about because they scrapped the volume that was supposed to conclude her story arc.

But then again if this show gets canceled then maybe Charlie will be lost in time too.

Oh yeah charlie, hiros whole motivation this season! This show just makes me mad.

I'm guessing you're implying the show forgot about Charlie. I know you missed the last episode, but Charlie was a huge factor in Hiro's subplot there.

This place is a grave yard for a reason...

********tumbleweed***********

I keep giving this show a chance because I love Season 1 but it just sucks. I want it to get better and it just doesn't.

Yep! Remember when each episode came on, each episode's thread would have like 10 pages by the end of the show? Look at this thread after a few days: 2-3 pages! I'm trying to give this show a chance but it's f-ing up. Claire is annoying as hell and the only reason people are liking her now is for some girl/girl action. :whatever:

yeh this was a good ep but they seem to do that once a month, its really annoying

I thought it was a good episode. It was clever how Matt trapped Sylar but it's hard to imagine Sylar was willing to give up his powers and I defiantely wouldn't of kept him in my basement , lol .
