Chapter 64 - Hysterical Blindness - 10/12/09

Alright episode, not terrible. Total waste of Ernie Hudson, but what can you do? This is Heroes, renowned for wasting good actors.

The lesbian kiss was entirely forced and unnecessary, but I suppose most of Claire's scenes are. She continues to be a weak link.

Knepper continues to be shine though. I'm kinda sad that he met up with Sylar because I can almost feel the inevitability of him killing Knepper to establish himself as the big bad.

Naw he won't at least i don't think he will.

Man, I don't get Emma's power AT ALL. Here's hoping Peter figures out what it does soon.

As for Sylar. I bet he gets manipulated by the carnies for most of the season, somehow gets his memory back(maybe w/ Parkman's help), and kills a bunch of people for using him.

Claire's story went from "kinda interesting" to ":whatever:" real fast.

All in all, enjoying the season though

How did the invisible chick get to the Carnival and back to the University in a matter of seconds???

I'm guessing either their teleporter did it or it's done in a manner connected to the way they made the carnival disappear before when the police arrived.

My assumption is that it's a real "traveling" Carnival.

Yeah, the Carnival definitely moves. Invisigirl prob just had to walk a mile or so away from campus.

I think Claire's storyline could be interesting, but the real issue is that the writers don't seem to know exactly where they're going any of the storylines. It's like they plan a story arc without considering where it will end and how it ties back with the show's continuity.

I think the opposite. Claire's arc felt like it was completely unrelated and now it tied into the Carnival. Peter and Emma just hooked up, and now Hiro popped up in Peter's house. It feels to me like some things are starting to come together and that things are connecting. In Season 1 a lot of elements seemed extremely unrelated in the beginning but it's only through viewing the entire season that you can see how everything comes together.

so, what I want to know is
do you think Emma can manipulate sound?
amplify sound?
like, could she scream super loud?
is it only sounds she makes?
I know it's impossible to tell yet
but I'm really like Dazzler....er um, "Emma" this season
;)

She damaged her house when she got into the music, so it clearly has some offensive uses.

Emma will probably be the missing freak that the carnival people need. She kind of fits in a way

I think the terrakinetic dude can move the circus, like a floating landmass, therefore dropping of the invisible chick, then picking up Sylar (plus we don't really know how much time has passed between specific scenes) ... he did level that mansion rather quickly... I'd love that it'd mean he's quite skilled and an even more dangerous villain

this season is restoring my faith in Heroes...

Emma's powers are officially kick*ss... can't wait to see her in action now
-love the relationship between her and Peter (lol, the scene where he still thought he could run super speed)

the invisible chick was a great twist--except for the suicide scene: wouldn't claire's roomey flip over if she was still in the dorm when pushed, then land differently, but WE loved her inclusion-- I personally thought Gretchen had some kind of mental powers to influence her to do so, but the new character fit in so well and for the most part made a lot of sense

tired of Sylar, but I did like the scenes between him and the British psychologist lady... I would've liked to see a relationship develop between them, but then again, he'd probably end up killing her

Sylar already filled their "empty seat", but I'm pretty sure they want ALL of the heroes (at least the ones currently on the show that they know about...but with Lydia's power I'm kind of hoping some forgotten characters will pop up eventually). Samuel talked about people trying to hide their true nature by pretending to be normal and trying to blend in with society but that many people will never accept them for what they are. And I believe he said something along the lines of bringing every member of their family home. I think Samuel and the carnival know how dangerous things are for "their kind" (and with the stuff that goes on he's justified...if you have powers on this show you're either something for Sylar to snack on or someone for some organization to capture and/or manipulate). I'm guessing Samuel wants the Heroes on his side to protect them and probably so they could aide him.

no love for the "greatest american hero" theme song?

That surprised me as well. And I think it's kind of a "full circle" situation, considering William Katt, who starred on GAH, appeared on Heroes early last season. He was that smarmy reporter who tried to expose Tracy but was given, shall we say, a cold reception. ;)
