Chapter 65 - Tabula Rasa - 10/19/09

and Samuel is a lesser mind than anyone who has crossed paths with Sylar before.

I disagree and even if that were the case this is the first time they actually have a good reason for Sylar to be easily manipulated: he has no memories and nothing else except the Carnival. If he leaves he'll be hunted by the police for crimes he has no connection to and he has no one else to turn to. He doesn't have his own personality anymore so he isn't going to go around killing anyone who messes with him as the scene with Ernie Hudson clearly illustrated.

I'm really liking Sylar's story so far and I'm not a Sylar fan by any stretch of the imagination. But it looks like Matt is indeed going to be controlled by the real Sylar personality if the preview for the next episode is any indication.

Emma and Hiro was nice and this was the first episode with Hiro that I enjoyed in a while. I also am interested to see more with Jeremy and I like how Noah is trying to find redemption for all the things he did in his past by helping people with abilities.

Wait so...was Charlie a character from season 1? I can't remember.

Yeah, but she was dying of a blood clot in her brain regardless which is why Hiro ended up not saving her.

I assume he's going to try to get her healed along with him when he goes back to the present.

Peter better not touch anyone randomly

I just realized how funny this sounds.

Didn't we already have this story with Hiro and it was decided that he could not save Charlie?

Yes. This can either be extremely lame or surprisingly interesting. If the season hasn't been as good as it has been so far I would have no hope for this being anything but a tired rehash.

Of course, my hopes in this series have been dashed before.

It seems like they are trying to retcon Season 2 and Season 3. That is fine with me. I will disregard Season 3 no matter what so if they go over plot lines that happened in Season 3, I could care less. I am tired of Sylar, get rid of him. Let someone else shine. I am tired of seeing Sylar lose some part of him and then trying to find a good part of him but then ending up bad. STOP IT. That has been his plot arc every Season after the first. We have seen it enough.

True we've seen Sylar turn good and stuff before- but I appreciate that this time it's actually done well.
They either now have to keep him good or kill him IMO.

Sylar is the Wolverine of this show. Has been since day one.

I don't think Hiro is going to save, Charlie in the literal sense that he's going to out right change the past.

I think he'll save her from dying at the hands of Sylar like she originally dead, but she'll still eventually die from the blood clot in her brain. I think he'll change it so that she can at least live out the rest of her life instead of being murdered.

Hmmm...i wonder if Hiro interacting with Sylar in the past will affect the present Sylar in some way...?

Hiro sounded like Eve from Wall:e at the end

CHAAAAARRRLIIIIEE

Did anyone else notice that the cello Emma was playing in last weeks episode was the same cello that Edgar had been wheeling around in it's case at the carnival? It also had a little star on it too!

So did the carnival peeps plant the cello in Emma's apartment? Are they after her too?

I think the Carnival people are after all the heroes so it's possible. They want Peter, Claire, and Hiro for sure. They got Sylar. We know somebody planted that cello and it wasn't Peter. So they're probably after Emma too.

I wonder if they want Matt too. If Sylar's mind is possessing Matt they might use that to get him on their side.

I'm surprised that no one asked why Peter didn't take "the healer" with him back to the hospital to cure Hiro. He could have been there in a second instead of taking a jet back (and of course giving Hiro time to leave).:whatever:

Probably because the healer kid had an unstable power he couldn't control himself and could have killed Peter or anyone else if he was left to do it himself?

Yeah but technically, does Peter know how to control the restorative nature of the power? Peter could just as well end up like the kid and end up killing people cause its a new ability to him.

The control of the power seems to be a "it's all in your mind" thing. Peter's mind is just a tad bit more stable and mature than the kid's, not to mention Peter's used to controlling powers. It's pretty much assumed that Peter would have a better handle on the power.

Peter has been replicating powers left and right and he usually picks up on how to use them pretty quickly while the kid is clearly still in the learning stages of his power.

Besides, power replicators always have been more efficient at using the powers of other people. Peter was able to use Issac's power without heroin the first time he acquired it, Sylar didn't have to wear headphones after getting used to his super hearing, etc.

Peter is becoming my favourit character. I love how he uses his powers to actually help people.
