I was thinking to myself about what Norman Osborn's possible role could be in the TASM trilogy. Also when could Harry Osborn possibly meet Peter. Put what you think about the characters' possible roles in the films. t:t:t:

I would think the Osborns would meet Peter in the sequel. Develop the friendship between Peter and Harry, and of course the relationship between Peter and Norman.

The conclusion drawn from the scenes in the trailer is that Norman has a little role, if any at all in this first movie.

That being said, given that the third act has a scene where Oscorp tower undergoes major damages. This may force Osborn into the picture as he would want to know how this occurred.

Also, given that Osborn is not in the picture, it would suggest he is:

a) Not a man of science and more of a business man, possibly a manipulator who had a direct hand in Peter's family's death

b) Dealing with far more important things, which may lead to the Goblin Formula and even the introduction of the Ultimate Venom Suit (which was originally designed by Richard Parker)

both are fairly large leaps; but not outside the realm of possibility.

What characters do you want to see make their appearances in the franchise, how and why?

As for me:
- Eddie Brock (good character and story dev. before getting powers, definitely)
- The Osborns (same as above)
- Felicia Hardy (same as above)
- Otto Octavius (same as above)
- MJ (obviously)
- JJJameson and his family (definitely develop John's storyline)
- Robbie and his family

I just want to see all characters getting attention to detail like in the TSSM series, you'll notice how their stories are all intertwined and how they really paid attention to the personalities of each character, and how it all contributed to how the story happened.

One thing I'm uncertain of is if this franchise could include a large cast of characters like in the comics, though not as much of course. There are dozens or even more in the comics I don't expect that. But I really would love to see it happen, especially with the inclusion of SHIELD you may expect a large cast of supervillains, even the not so significant ones like Vulture, Shocker, etc.

But I must admit that I personally can't imagine the franchise with a range of characters as vast as the cartoons and comics e.g. with Wilson Fisk as the Kingpin of the crime underworld for starters. The thing about that is that might call for the inclusion of other crimelords like Silvermane, and then the inclusion of SHIELD, and Nick Fury, and then other superheroes that apparently might have to be mentioned; Daredevil, Fantastic Four.

Don't get me wrong that would definitely be incredible to see and I would love that but as it appears now, it seems unlikely that any film adaptation of superhero comics would go that far. Avengers is taking it furthest but it definitely has virtually no detail in the stories, characters, etc.

Anyway I've rambled on a lot and I doubt most of you read it all but if you have cheers, what are your thoughts?

PS. Also, how many films do you want and expect to see?

Personally I want at least 6 films. I have no idea what to expect though. :\

I expect them to make at least 3 films. The characters I would like to see are the Osborns, the Daily Bugle staffs (JJJ, Brant, Robbie, and maybe even Ned), and MJ.

I expect to see MJ, Norman Osborn and Eddie Brock in future films. Harry could go either way. Same with JJJ. I don't expect to see JJJ's family, Robbie's family because they're minor characters. I don't expect to see Felicia Hardy because the franchise will already have two love interests and will probably only last three films. If there is another reboot (and there will be), that is when Felicia will be introduced.

I am glad that a possibility for a Ultimate (Hulk) Goblin can be ruled out even now because of the Lizard. They are pretty much similar (the looks, green, hulking appearance) and I doubt the studio will degrade Spidey's arch nemesis a second time, comparing the goblin to a lizard. I hope they're gonna be much smarter with Goblin's approach this time.

I can agree with that, I would like to see Osborn's character develop over the course of a few films, not just a villain that tried to do something good, failed, takes a serum, goes crazy, fights Spidey and dies, all in one film. Green Goblin is a force to be reckoned with and I hope when they do introduce him in this new franchise, he's made to look more menacing and downright psycho. Secondly, I hope they stray far away from that "armored" look and lean more towards the "medieval" look.

I agree that GG should have a slow intro and make it known that he is 'a force to be reckoned with.'

It can be done in one film though. TDK did it with the Joker. It's possible.

True that. I hate Goblin-Hulk soooooooo flippin' much.
However, I'm not entirely opposed to him actually turning into a green skinned goblin-esque creature. That's one change I didn't mind in the Ultimate version. If they had him inject the formula and then be able to change into a regular man-sized goblin and then wear a purple costume? That'd be kinda cool, IMO.

A human-sized "goblin" would actually work, imo.

I have no idea if that's a green costume since I am not familiar with that game, I think it's Ultimate Alliance 2, but Norman turning into a goblin, but a human-sized one and donning a freaky purple costume such as that would be perfectly fine. It'll have a more comic-look than Raimi's and it WON'T be Hulk Goblin which will please me.

My thoughts exactly, except for Mysterio. I never thought of having Mysterio as the villain in the fourth. But that could work.

He probably will. It would be kickass if they would find a way to do both Green Goblin and Doc Ock in the same movie. The Dark Knight managed to have joker and two-face, so why not?

I'd like that to happen, but I think they are way too big of character's to put in the same movie.

I mean if Oscorp does have something to do with Peter's parents death's, then it would be appropriate for Norman Osborn to be featured as the main villain. Though I suppose a minor villain could still be included.

Mary-Jane - a must have imo!
Eddie Brock - if he comes in, we need Venom too, later.
Felicia Hardy - I don't think I want Black Cat to be honest, but I wouldn't mind Felicia, I would actually like her to be introduced at some point, maybe as Brock's girlfriend, but again, only if she fits in the story, I don't want any forced character.
The Osborns - like MJ, a must. And GG , but that is IT as far as the Goblins go! I totally agree with The Joker.
Scorpion - I would like him after a couple of movies where Jamesone's hate bar is filled towards Spider-Man (should be in the same movie when Spidey gets the Symbiote, IF that happens. Would make for a great story!).
Mysterio - a cool character from his background to his "abilities" and even to his appearences including the visual one! I'd like to see him.

And..
JJJ - uh wait! Isn't he in this 1st one!? I thought he was cast.

To incorporate all of this, we need more that 3 movies in my opinion. As long as things don't become repetitive and boring (see Raimi case), they can even make 5 or 6 as far as I'm concerned.
