Colossal Spoons said:I don't understand the logic behind smoking. You're paying an assload of money...to die? I'm not taking a moral highroad with this, I guess I'm more concerned for smokers' lives than they are. The money they spend on cigs(as overpriced as they are) could go towards something way more useful, and less toxic too. And boy is the smell awful. I always seem to be downwind of a smoker.
Exactly, everybody spends money on some hobby or habit that they could really do without.jonty30 said:Like all the superhero figurines you have in the packages in your customized closet.
Yeah, but I'm too lazy to roll my own, plus I like the sturdyness of regular cigarettes. Or are you talking about something different than hand rolled cigarettes? I've never used a tobacco roller.FlameHead said:Hey, do Americans get tobacco kits down there? Like, we can get tubs of tobaccy and empty tubes where we can take it home and roll them ourselves with a tobacco roller. Its' much cheeper than buyin' them by the pack.
I really should, at the very least while I'm in my apartment. I'm just so used to how sturdy regulars are though, even though I tend to like the hit better from a hand rolled one.FlameHead said:I hear ya. It's a pain in the ass to do so but, ya save like 30 bucks in doin' it. with prices the way they are here in Canada, I gotsa do it. I actually started to roll my own again (after not doin so for 3 years) yesterday.
**** yeah. Cubans all the way. I love living near Canada.Mr. Smash'n Bash said:**** cigarettes, Cigars all the way.![]()

oh..and i'm in canada and get cartons for $30 ...there's a few stores around here that sell cigs form the indian reservations for cheap like that.
Yeah, when I was at my parents this summer in GA I could get my favorite american brand (Winston Red) for about 2.40. It was pretty refreshing.reggiebar said:Living in The South, Atlanta, GA I don't feel everyone's pain on the price of ciggies....cartons of Camel Lights (my current brand of smokes) are only about $26 and that is the final price after taxes. Also, at the QT, you can always get 3 packs for $9, final price. Don't know if this is lucky for me or not as I know from my friends back home in NY and other in CA that smokes are about $5 or $6 a pack in those places.
I'm kind of the opposite, not a big fan of the smell of weed.KingOfDreams said:I don't like cigarettes. I've only smoked one once but I didn't like it. I don't like the smell of the smoke in the air (though it often does remind me of concerts, which are always fun) or the way it makes your clothes smell. Everytime I'm near someone who has been smoking I wish they would move. It just smells bad. Now marijuana on the other hand I like. I like the smell, etc. It seems sort of cleaner or smoother than tobacco in a way I guess. But I'm not a big smoker of that either. Just at parties.

But you're gonna die anyway. I feel like I"m doing enough healthy things to cancel it out that it's not really going to affect my lifespan that much relative to everyone else. I enjoy it, I'm aware of the danger, I still prefer to do it for a myriad of reasons. It's not stupid, and it doesn't make me a loser.Colossal Spoons said:1. I have no figurines that I spend lots of money on. Comics maybe.
2. My comics aren't slowly killing me. It's not just the wasting of money, but the wasting of money to kill yourself.

Fumez pas, you mean. And yes, I'm appreciating my life by participating in life-pleasing activities and not living my life worried about every little danger or concern to my health. I take care of my body, I do the "big" things necessary to stay in good shape, but I'm going to sit back and appreciate little things like cigarettes while I have the chance. If you live life avoiding every little thing that could cause you harm, you won't have much fun.Colossal Spoons said:You're not stupid. You're just not appreciating your life.
PAS FUMEZ!
