Finally saw this last night and even if I didnt have prior knowledge of the movie being cut-up I still would have been able to tell, some of the cuts were drastically obvious and it sounds like there was once a really good movie in there somewere.

I enjoyed what we got, but there was just absolutely NO feeling or emotion in the movie what so ever, which is a shame, as they had the case to pull it off, and the action was mostly done well, I actually enjoyed the stygian witches scene and the Medusa scene as well.

Cant see why people are criticising Worthington when he had NOTHING to work with, same with the rest of the cast, but the movie is so obviously chopped to hell it was ridiculous. I really hope with the cut job they did on this and the rumours about similar happening to The Losers and Jonah Hex WB isnt becoming the new Fox.

6.5/10 for me.

exactly, same here.

Almost all action movies are terrible, thinly written characters. I think the problem is that after three movies of Worthington coming across as vanilla incarnate, people are beginning to suspect that he doesn't have the charisma to handle these types of roles. To at least make you root for the protagonist and hope he accomplishes his mission is a bare minimum.

Wait, The Losers is being tainted with? I hope not. I can't wait for that.

I thought in Terminator Salvation and Avatar he did this, in both movies I was rooting for him, but here he just had absolutely nothing to work with here, even when his parents died, we didnt even get a scene of him grieving.

remins me of a dirty joke.
she whispers in your ear
"I'm a man"

oh god that is so wrong

Hahaha. That is pretty disturbing.

You don't have time to grieve when you're assuring yourself that you're a MAN!

I would agree with you except for the fact that this is the third time in a row where I've seen him pretty much play the same character. He was a bit better in Avatar than in Clash or TS, but that was just because Avatar was a better movie with a top director. But even then, he was pretty much playing the same guy.

Ha ha.

To be fair, there are a multitude of actors that play the same roles in movies and have done for decades, yet no one has a go at them, Worthington is an action star in the vein of Willis, Stallone and Schwarzenegger, who, with the very odd exception, play the same character in movies all the time.

well you know if your pops wasnt a frakking lookey loo he'd be alive...but no he wanted to watch...serves him right

^He didnt want to watch, he just advised not to move in case the Gods thought they were part of it, it didnt work, fleeing would have looked just as dubious to be fair.

OMG WB will learn nothing with this movie.

look at the numbers . they are huge.

The movie definately is profitable for WB. I was thinking about this a couple of days ago . With the news of the movie being drastically different then when online journalists were allowed to visit the set , 2 things could've happened
1 WB screwed with the production.
To me at least this seems a bit unlikely because they have given many directors creative freedom in the past to make their movies. Nolan , the wachowski's , francis lawrence. The list goes on. So it's surprising to me at least that they would screw up the movie so bad.
Which brings to to point 2

2 Louis Letterier screwed up Clash Of The Titans
It's a well known fact that Edward Norton had a active hand is making TIH. He rewrote the script and the even rumors of him not being happy with the first cut and even been there in the editing room. Eventually everything was just written off as creative decisions . To be honest LL & Norton were both against Marvel but it could've very been LL just doing what Norton wanted.
Same thing could've happened here only this time there wasn't someone like Norton to back LL and WB took actions such as asking/demanding reshoots . It also would make sense why they decided to use the 3-d. Rather then going for a quick buck , they took a gamble of using half assed 3-d to save themselves from financial disaster. Certainly it has helped them.
THere are reports that that some exec. inside WB have been unhappy with the COTT conversion but the top heads of WB have taken a unified stance in justifying their decision.

So the 3-d could've been a used as damage control . Certainly other WB movies have better 3-d. The potter movies , Guardians Of Ga'Hoole .

Letterier is in this video very happy.

ok so lets say that WB f... up hes movie and that he is angry. why is he acting happy? two options:
- he is lying that he is happy so he is a tool in hollywood
-he made bad decisions himself.

Being vocal in Hollywood can sometimes backfire on you. Going back to the Norton debacle of TIH , in the end he just consented with "in his eyes " the lesser cut of TIH just because he didn't want to be labeled as a difficult person to work with.
If Lettereir decided to do that , he'd be in trouble because word can spread pretty fast of him not being able to make the movie the studio wants.
Don't you find it odd that Favreau is on the wishlist of Marvel to make Avengers yet when LL asked Marvel to direct Avengers & Captain America , they declined. Of course BO plays a role in decisions but still.

If he's (acting) happy it could be just because that may be the wise thing to do right now. Acting like a diva and saying "OH NOES STUDIO TOOK MA BABY" early on could've resulted in him being sued or just being labeled a difficult person to work with and therefore finding himself out of hollywood pretty fast.

i think you can promote your movie without using the words :
-woow
-it was fantastic
-jaw dropping
-amaaaazing

you know what i mean? he is overacting it IMO. he is acting like Ratner. but i think he is hyperactive. i just think he should have calm down a little.

Have you ever seen the guy talk.
He is very expressive.

Ha ha.

I respectfully disagree, IMHO he's not even fit to wipe their assess. Those guys have charm and personality. They're fun to watch because they know they're in films with extremely flimsy stories and they know they need to compensate for this. It's not that Worthington plays the same character over and over again, it's that he's monotonous, charmless and bland.

It's weird though, in real life he seems like a cool, funny guy from all the interviews i've seen him in. He has a sorta, self deprecating dry humour about him.

Don't know why he can't translate that natural humour to the screen. Maybe he should do some comedies or more wise cracking, smart ass action roles.

To be fair I wasnt suggesting he is fit to lick their asses, I was just pointing out other actors play the same character in many movies and get away with it.

Worthington was better in TS and Avatar than he was here, but thats because he had more to work with, I found like him likable and interesting as those characters, but in COTT he just had nothing to work with, at all, so I just think it s a bit harsh the way people are having a go at his performance.

It's the internet, dude. Bale had nothing to work with in TS and suddenly people started acting like he was the worst actor in the world.

He isn't the worst actor in the world, but he was crap in it. He just seemed totally disinterested. As though he felt the movie was beneath him or something.

I never understand this complaint... he was obviously committed to the film; he had Nolan come in and beef up his part, and he oversaw portions of the production. Hell, the whole rant episode is more than enough proof that he cared about getting his scenes right.

However, he should have known better, because the movie WAS beneath him.

Na i was talking about Bale.

And i don't think his outburst was because of his passion. It was because he was obviously pissed off with the fools around him. That's why i think he didn't really care about the movie, therefore didn't give his all to the role.
