Nope, Tom Cruise makes a point of examining his watch, which stops as the lightning bolts are coming down. The flashlight batteries are dead as well. The only reason that Cruise was able to take that one van is because the mechanic replaced the solenoid in the fried battery.

The news video footage Cruise watches later shows several bolts hitting the ground, when the camera should have been knocked out by the first bolt.

Here's a question for anyone who might know: Is there anything special about January 11, 2008?

Is it the anniversary of anything? A date that was mentioned in any prophecy? Anything that might give us a clue?


And I agree with the poster from a page ago or so who asked why we're assuming is an adaption/remake of anything at all. Could this not be a completely new franchise/story?


Besides, that Cthulhu thing looks nothing like a Lion.

Someone on IMDB brought up an interesting point does CTHULHU shoot fire or anything like that? Because the top of the one building explodes, meaning it has to have some weapon of some sorts.
