They both have black eyes. Other than that, there's no similarity. Mr. Grumpy Pant's face is bat like, the Rancor is pug like. MGP has long, triple jointed, skinny fore-legs, the Rancor has short, single jointed arms. Other than black eyes and pointy teeth, the two have NOTHING in common. Oh yeah, there's also the fact that the Rancor is only about 20 feet tall, and MGP is the size of a skyscraper.

Best Buy's website doesnt have it, and on DVDAF, it says it's Future Shop and FYE exclusive.

Apparently, HMV (Uk) is getting a 2-disc steebook with the same extras, PLUS a 50-mins feature called "Case Designate: Cloverfield"

If it turns out to be good, I might have to import that one.

Uh..this isnt an opinion thing. The two monsters have no design characteristics in common. Anyoen with EYES can see that. There personalities were also totally different. MGP was an unstoppable force of nature, the Rancor walked off with his best friend the trainer crying after getting his ass handed to him by a teenager. They look NOTHING alike.

That's exactly what it is, and honestly, if you cant see any similarly there, it seems your looking through a fanboys rose tinted eyes. It looks generic to me, I've made my point as to why, if you cant agree with that, fair enough.
