Exactly my point, Ray!

Take the my previous post, add in your comment about "I'll only ask once," what do you get? A very screwed up board. In your eyes, that conversation could be "leading to valuable and productive members of the Hype leaving." I my eyes, and possibly the fake posters eyes, we could be having a fun debate about nothingness.

My point, you or someone tells Hunter. Hunter will either be way too bothered by this, think it's ridiculous, or think it's a waste of time becuase by the time he got there, myself and the fake posters could be talking about "teh puffy," and laughing about it.



I like your style man, and I like you idea. But I will not be apart of it. If anything, I will be somewhat against it. If I see posters tagging the "be nice" to any debate he or she deems "bad," I will be the extra set of eyes, maybe even a voice of reason.

You know I am nice. But sometimes I play, and if I am told to "be nice" because I played a little rough, then maybe we should package everyone up and hide them away from the world.

Consider this: We all have a bad post button so this thread is really just creating an awareness of what the Hype wants its member to do anyway.

They have been cases where people have reported things prematurely and there might be with this. Its all a judgment call and we all have to use common sense on when to even respond to what seems like joking around and what appears to be abusive behavior.

Bottom line, if your concerns come to light Hunter Rider will be the one to tell each of we if we are becoming too excessive.

Since we have both the support of Lightening Strikes and Hunter on this thread (They made it a sticky) and we know they are also monitoring this thread along with our behavior, I don't feel it will be a problem. If it does, then Hunter will just pull the plug.

Someone said earlier something about political correctness, I tottaly agree.

All of the sudden we have a religous right Batboard. Who will stand for the little guy (newbs, etc).


I asked Hunter a fews days back what constitutes flamming and then leads to a banning? Basically, he said it differs from time to time. Obviously he will not ban someone on his or her first offense, possibly even the second or third.

But, geez, add in a bunch of over zealous Southern Bat-tist, and we could have a blood bath everyday because of two simple words: "be nice."

We don't exactly need to just linger around other people's discussions, saying "BE NICE! BE NICE!" I think the idea could be to steer people away from entering those kind of flame-fests, by proving to be good examples ourselves, and instigating thoughtful, in-depth discussion and point-for-point civil debate.

When in doubt, just leave it alone. Eventually Hunter or another mod will see it and will dealt with it.

I think our job is when there is NO DOUBT about what is being said in a post. In that case, its not even necessary to say anything or get in the middle.

Just report it and use good judgment.

If one of our members questions their ability to make a judgment call then maybe they reconsider doing this for the moment.

They just want the flaming to stop, most of these conversations lead from discussions about the joker's make up and end in someone being peronsally attacked for liking/not liking he design. Hunter cant do it all himself and some people want to help cool the waters.

Hunter himself even stated that he can tell the difference between joking around and flaming, so I dont see why your getting upset over it.
