The Dark Knight The League of Shadows in The Dark Knight?

Here is a pressing question in my mind that I have never seen addressed. Will the league of shadows be present in the next Batman film? Sure, R'as Al Ghul died, but what of all the members of the league of shadows? They obviously know that Bruce Wayne is Batman right? Will they address how he clears them out of Gotham at the end of BB or will their knowledge of his secret identity be a constant struggle for him? Will he hunt them all down and put them in jail, or will it be one of those things that will just try and be ignored? Discuss.

Also, this asian actor that has been cast, do you think he will be associated with the league of shadows, as Batman has brought evidence to bring him to trial?

I doubt The League being in TDK, but maybe a slight chance in the third film.

I think most fans never even though about the fact that the entire organization knows he is batman. This should be a huge issue for Bruce/Batman, especially in this realistic world that Nolan is creating.

I'm sure everyone knew that.

We just don't know how much of the League is left. Did all the remaining members follow Ra's to Gotham and were they all arrested there?

No idea. It's certainly crossed my mind that the League might play a major part in Nolan's films, for instance, being directly responsible for say, the scarring of Harvey Dent, the creation of the Joker etc. etc. as their new means of destroying Gotham. Maybe Ra's returns, somehoiw having escaped death (or Lazurus, or something) and pays a quick, cordial visit to Bruce letting him know how much fun the next few years of his life will be. This angle could also be done with Talia taking up her father's post.

That said, I don't think that Nolan wants Ra's or the League to be some sort of ever-present, near onmnipotent force. Just doesn't seem to fit in with either his philosophy on taking new angles, or maintaining the spirit of the Batman comics (in particular, that when dealing with the Joker or Two-Face, that they are the all powerful force and don't have some sort of demi-God lingering behind them).

I don't see Ra's returning. He's played his part in Nolan's world, but I could see Talia some where down the road.

The League of Shadows doesn't sound like it would fit into TDK. This is all about Batman facing the mob and the crazy costumed freaks.

I just think the fact that members of a terrorist group that helped train him and know who he is is something that maybe should be addressed, and quite possibly will be. If not in TDK, it must happen in the series some time. Even if only a handful of league members survived for some reason, or if they were arrested, what would stop them from spilling the beans on who Batman really is? All you need is one enemy, no matter how small, to know the identity of batman to destroy everything he's been building. I think it really needs to be addressed on film. This should be part of the "escalation"

I don't think they need to have the League of Shadows in this one. I think the asian actor might be for one of the gangs possibly. I like to think that the remaining members went after Ra's Al Ghuls body to bring him back to the Lazerus pit and are slowly regaining their strength as well as his since he technically died. ;)

I know Nolan is only signed on for three films, but if he were to return and make another three, bringing the League of Shadows back for the sixth and final act could prove to be an interesting full circle type twist.

I always like when the third film in a trilogy has everything comming full circle so maybe well get some League stuff in Batman 3.

Indeed. I myself think Ra's having survived the train crash and returning for the final act would be a great way to end the trilogy.

I'm guessing when Ra's closes his eyes before the crash, he is either preparing for impact and ultimately his death or he's meditating/conjuring up supernatural forces that'll allow him to survive the incident.

I could definatly see it as the "joker card" moment at the end of SOTB.

Maybe like a sword with a letter attatched to the "detective" shoved into the batcomputer or something.

IDK - just a thought.

Is that what is considerd to be the most likely title for the third film?

Its not that Bad, it sounds pretty cool actually.

I hope no League of Shadows.
they are done, imo. move forward with different ideas.

Agreed. We already have the Joker, Maroni, Scarecrow, and their various gangs, and even Two-Face near the end or so I believe. Besides, what would the League even do in the movie? That's not to say I wouldn't mind if they popped up again in the third film.

We got new villains already, so i don't see a point in their return.
