Comedy Community - Part 4

I think fans are in for a rude awakening with Harmon's return. This show's decline began under Harmon's regime when he Flanderized it. His return will not go as well as folks expect.

That may but I'll tune into this season with him back whereas I wasn't going to before. Season Three Community was still an enjoyable season with some of my favourite episodes. Instead of working on 25, 24 or 22 episodes like the first three seasons, Harmon only has to work on 13. I'll take that.

Now Happy Endings just needs to find a home since USA passed on them...

Season one was great. Season two was great. Season three was great. Season four was great. Season five will be great. Even if I enjoy what Harmon did more, the fourth season wasn't even kind of bad. Excited as Hell to have him back though.

People can say season three went downhill all they want, all I know is that A: I enjoyed it, and B: in season four the show went from being my absolute favorite comedy to a show a didn't even bother watching.

Yea I agree. I recently just ran through just the third season. The Chang takes over stuff sucks but as a whole the season is still strong.

You can see why Harmon makes enemies but I'm sure there are plenty of *****es behind the scenes working on TV shows.

yeah... he stated the exactly same thing I've been saying all year. S4 as a whole was a waste of potential and time.

Losing Harmon, bad plots, terrible jokes, hitting us in the head with things that worked in Harmon era but didn't need a revisit - especially jokes.

Yeah, but how would the audience have reacted, had the new guys done their own thing from the start? It's just kind of a double edged sword, replacing a showrunner whose voice is so deeply ingrained in his series. And he was only replaced because of his own bad attitude and the bad attitude of one of the castmembers. S4 wasn't your cup of tea, Harmon? Well that's a shame, because it's just as much your doing as it was theirs. :o

just because Harmon is right doesn't make him rightious.

No, it doesn't. He's right in the season was disappointing but he helped indirectly in its creation by fighting with Chevy Chase and getting kicked off the show. Now he's coming back without Chevy for one final season and a chance to wrap it up right.

I just hope they don't drop the ball again.

Good god, he comes across as so arrogant. He doesn't know how to mince words.

I'm honestly surprised NBC asked him back, his firing wasnt entirely on them, he has a nasty habit of making an ass of himself in interviews, just like here.

Exactly. It wasn't just what he said about the last season, but the way he comes off in that article was very *****ey. It's as if he wanted to blame everyone except for himself for what happened the last few years.

It's also unfair to the other showrunners. They're gonna need to look for work someday and he has no right to say something that can hinder that. Typical Hollywood.

I think the new showrunners were hindered by the fact that they were not only replacing Harmon, but also that like 80-90% of the writing staff found other work before NBC even gave them another season.

This is really going to effect the dynamic of the show. It'll be interesting to see how Abed handles it.

Well, there goes a lot of my enthusiasm.
