I think it depends on how they space out his episodes. Is he just in the first few or are we going to see him pop in and out of them and still be part of the finale? Either way it is another blow to the final season.

Having time to think it through more, Troy and Abed really are the best thing in the series so I'm hoping they can work out the details to maximize their on screen interaction. I like the rest of the cast but their friendship really cemented the show.

I'm also wondering if they will work Pierce's absence into somehow being the catalyst for Troy's reduced role in the show.

So in addition to the now gone Chevy Chase, Community is basically down to handsome jerk, funny dumb girl, nice .gif girl, annoying lady, and annoying robot guy. Then, when they finally leave, it can be the show we all want - Jim Rash and this guy:

Yeah. But season 3s finale was done in a way that if that was the end I would of been fine. And considering how bad 4 was and this current news about Glover, I really wish it did end at season 3.

I was hoping season 5 could be a redemption of sorts for season 4 but with Chase gone, Glover mostly gone and the abbreviated season it looks like we will just have the shell of what once was.

I do still think they can do something to cap off the series with a proper finale. It will never be the same as it once was but they can try to do something, minus Pierce for the last episode or two.

It's kind of weird to me that Glover would want to further his career when Harmon is coming back and knowing he's only needed for 13 episodes. It makes me wonder if maybe he's not all too thrilled about Harmon's return...? I don't really following these things so maybe someone knows more about their relationship.

Last season of Happy Endings was waaaaay more Community than last season of Community was.
