The Dark Knight Concerns about TDK

Well, the "I gotta get me one of those" was very 80s... in a bad way. "Nice coat" was a bit more bearable and "Nice ride" was garbagge. All of the above IMO, of course. Other than that, I liked the humor, but the moments were the 3 above were used, well, they were totally out of place.
ah yes. "gotta get me one of those" was kind of cringe-worthy, as was nice ride. but nice coat i liked, because it was the second movie of the summer to have coat related compliments (sin city). so i was amused by that.

Dammit, I wanna start watching BL, is it really as good as I hear? It's the beginning of the 2nd season this year, correct?

Its on season 4 i believe... Anyway, it is really funny and fun to watch, has some dramatic moments but all in all a good law show in a sea of bad ones. William Shatner = God and they make so many cracks about Star Trek with him.

i thought some of the one-liners were pretty decent. even if they were cheesy. like "does it come in black?" the movie-snob in me said, that's a bad line, but the kid in me just smiled, because it was so cool.

and i liked the stuff at the hotel. i thought it was all pretty good.

I loved every Wayne one-liner. But the ones that involved Batman and Bat-moments were the negative ones to me.

Alan: I think they're called cling ons.
Denny: Did you say klingons?

hmm. i see where you're coming from. batman shouldn't show much of a sense of humor, anyway. unless he's talking to alfred. because alfred is basically his dad.

nothin on tv...=\ gotta watch sanford and son until three's company comes on.

It wouldn't be the first time a woman has a relationship with a mechanical device. :)

Hahahahahahahaha, quite true!

And the 4th season of Boston Legal is starting this year. It certainly has its moments, although sometimes it really feels like a guy's Ally McBeal.

While growing up and watching more and more Spader movies, I was alway kind of puzled how in each movie he'd play, he'd always get some nookie. I mean HIM!?! I don't know why, but when I see him "on the job" I find it weird/ funny/ repulsive in a way that is watchable (if that even makes sense)!
But I'll give it a shot.

You know what? To be quite frank, I'd have no problem with a Bat-liner. It's just that the particular ones happened to be the kings of cliched one-liners, no other reason for me. If it's agood one, I'd buy it.
I liked the seemingly much hated "Eat floor. High fiber" from BR, because it was so bizzare.

Yeah, I kinda feel the same way except for Supernova.

i hate most of the one-liners in BR. i hate most of the dialogue in BR. as a kid i liked the movie. but i watched it a couple weeks ago and it's like a joke to me now. b89 is still pretty cool. but BR, man, i don't like it. i mean, i like a couple things. but i think it has waaaaaayyyy too many bad lines. "saved by kitty litter" comes to mind...

Every time you compare BR to BB a panda bear is tortured.

BR really is a horrendous movie. we were talking about burton's best earlier. BR is probably burton's worst movie. i hate that one miseltoe line. it seemed so out of place, both times it was said. but it was supposed to be this deep, romantic line or some sh-t. i just thought it was crap.

Nah, his worst movie for me would be Planet of the Apes. I still like BR more than B89, I always did.

oh, another one. "i am woman here my roar." pretty much anything catwoman says. i thought she was terrible. i mean, it wasn't her fault. she was fine, it was the writing. therefore, the character was terrible, but she played it fine. i didnt like the suit either. but enough of my hatred for BR. BM!!!!! haha...poop reference...

My concern is that people won't go see the movie and we won't get a 3rd movie.

This is my concern as well. I sure hope people recognize the new Bat symbol, otherwise some people might not put 2 and 2 together and realize "The Dark Knight=Batman".

I hope it makes way more than the Marvel movies in 2008. DC deserves a huge hit.

My concerns are pretty similar - we have no guarantee for a third film... and this film seems to leave some openings on purpose, it'd be terrible if the third film was never made to round them out.

Still no concerns. Besides having to wait in line on Day 1.

:batty: I have many concerns about this film. BATMAN is very important to me. He is my favorite Comic Book Super Hero of all time. And, I don't want to see him and his supporting cast and, rogues gallery portrayed the wrong way.

I don't care what those newcomers who aren't real fans have to say about realism and it doesn't have to be a direct translation from the comic book. Well it does have to be a direct translation from the comic book, that is where he comes from and that is who and, what Batman is, also he is in a comic book worl, if I want to see reality I'll watch the news.

I am not at all happy with what has been done to The Joker, he should be white all over and he should not be applying make up if that is the case, that is all wrong, respect the
true character! Joker fell into a vat of chemicals causing his white skin, smile, green hair, and red lips.

And as for BATMAN's suit, they said it was going to be more like the comics in this one, and then they come up with this. Why not just put him in the Ironman suit! Pathetic.

They really haven't done anything different with the suit like they were suppose to, and it still looks like something from Batman and Robin, especially if they keep thos clasps which look stupid, Clooney had those clasps.:whatever:

I hope Nolan doesn't try to throw in his trademark so called surprise endings trying to just turn these into his films, he needs to know that this is an American Icon, not his own creation!!! :cmad:

I have had a love/hate feeling for BATMAN BEGINS since I saw it the 2nd time, I loved it the first, it was nice to see Joe Chill brought to the big screen and the Scarecrow, and to see Bruce train and the origin and all, but, when I watched it again on dvd things started to bother me, alot of others have said so aswell, not everyone is a Nolan fane and Nolan Drone, Scarecrow should have kept his mask on and had a better costume to go with the mask, Batman's suit should have been a dark grey and black, the Batmobile is missing that Bat-style, Alfred looked the same age when Bruce was 30 as he was when he was 8. But they had Gordon look a bit different when Bruce was a child, also Gordon at leats looked like the comic book character, would it have killed them to put a moustache on alfred, why just have one character accurately done, like Loeb, he's an old white man, Flass is a blonde ex navy seal, in shape.

I think they should have just done a Year One movie with flashes of his training and all. Ra's missing his Lazarus Pits is a shame, they have really robbed that character of his traits, it's a shame they could'nt just bring the whole thing faithfully to life. Enough of the stupid realism, just bring the Comic Book Legend to life, that is all.

I'm afraid the 2nd will not be as good as the first even though it was flawed I do like it somewhat, I just have a feeling they're going to take too many liberties with these classic characters who don't need to be remade, they are interesting enough on their own and have been for decades for a reason, I don't need to see some different version. I want to see the characters, and the story I know, when I read Batman I think, wow I'd love to see this come to life, then they always manage to screw something up.

I love the Time Burton films, he truly captured the spirit, but when I heard that they were restarting the franchise and it would be more faithful I was so happy to see these things I always wanted to, but thenI got inaccurate changes and all that crap.

I'm tempted to use my trump card (tobey) but that would be mean

listen spider-bat, you're entitled to your opinion. and that's cool. you want a comic book movie to look like a comic book. that's all well and good. but nolan HAS captured the spirit of the characters. the CHARACTERS, not the drawings. he kept the things about the look of the characters that make them iconic, but focused more on what made them characters. i think his approach is leaps and bounds above burton's approach. burton's approach was superficial. i don't care how many people say burton's films were deep and character-driven. i don't see it.

i do think you can have your opinion. you don't have to like the nolan movies. but i completely disagree. batman's suit shouldn't have been black and gray, if you want to be true, it should be blue and gray. but that won't work either. the suit should be as dark as possible, because on screen, the comic suit wouldn't work the way wayne wants it to. it wouldn't strike fear. it wouldn't be effective. i just think you're wrong. i'm sorry.

i don't think it's a matter of realism necessarily, i think it's a matter of style. nolan has his style, and i think it remains true to the spirit of batman and i think it helps others to appreciate the psychological and dark aspects of the universe, where as burton's was all about being cartoony.
