I think its fair now to assume we are getting a Wonder Woman Film Panel at Comic Con. Saturday schedule was released today and Entertainment Weekly: Women Who Kick Ass Panel was announced and Connie Nielsen is gonna be apart of it.

Lynda Carter is 65 years old, and as great a personality as she is and as great an ambassador for WW... She's not the greatest of actresses either. So that would blunt the film in terms of drama and action, as she likely wouldn't be in the shape to handle all the fighting and action we've seen Connie involved with. Changing the story they had just to have Carter do a cameo would have been silly.

Also, Lynda Carter may look great for her age, but she doesn't sound great. Her voice sounds like that of a little old woman these days, which would not be fitting for Hippolyta at all. It's better that Connie Nielsen is playing the part.

I do wonder how big a role the Amazons will have in this film overall? I mean we know that they're at least present early on on the island. But then once Diana leaves to go fight in WWI, what will their role be then and how large will it be?

I can't wait to see Connies depiction of Hippolyta. I'm rewatching the WW tv series and Cloris Leachman sadly is not anywhere near as iconic as Lynda Carter was, she seems drunk during the pilot movie lol.

She's not passing a torch. WW is not hers. She played the character in a TV show, that's great and all. But no, she should not have been Queen Hippolyta because of that fact.

They made the right decision casting Connie. And I'd have to agree that her accent is perfection.
