Contest of Marvels II Thread 4

*Polaris - (Ice, you did the best of your ability with this match-up. I couldn't have done any better. I still have to give it to Po, though.)

*Forge - (No matter which alternate universe I'd see, I would never be able to picture Rage using Inhuman technology to his advantage.)

*Shaman - (This character is going to go far. And, if he survives this match, Maestro better watch out. In fact, if I owned both characters, I'd seriously consider Tusk to move on.)

*Maestro - (Ky gets to pick who moves on, and like I said above, even though the initial instinct is Maestro, I'd seriously consider Tusk.)

Polaris - (the biggest challenge for Mistique in this match is that Polaris knows she is facing her. It's much harder to manipulate someone when they know M is right there.

Forge

Shaman (although, like Phaed said, I'd rather Tag win, I just don't think he would)

Maestro - I was looking at this earlier today, and I see where Tusk could actually be better in the next fight. Ultimately though, I decided that the strategy most likely for Tusk to win would be harder to come by than Maestro's (at least the way I'm gonna handle it). I can definately see where you're coming form though Phaedrus and thanks for the warning (even if I am too stupid to take the advice :woot: )

Polaris - Mystique is sadly outclassed in the power department here, and pissing off Polaris would just be counterproductive
Forge - The calm Forge holds the advantage here over the more quick-tempered Rage
Shaman - Tag is just plain out of his league here
Maestro - Obviously

Polaris

Rage

Shaman

Maestro

Too tired to give my reasons but trust me.;)

Mystique (Hell, I have to give it to Mystique. Things like that have happened in the comics plenty of times, not just to Polaris, and it would probably work again.)
Rage
Shaman (So wanted to vote for Tag. And I think he could take the match a couple of times out of ten.)
Maestro (although Tusk would probably be very annoying and take awhile to stop.)

Mystique
Forge
Maestro
Shaman

Results So Far:

Polaris currently beating Mystique 6-2
Forge currently beating Rage 6-2
Shaman currently beating Tag 8-0
Maestro currently beating Tusk 8-0

Polaris - even though I do think Mystique has a chance but I have to go with probabilities and not possibilities
Rage - because the he will build the exact weapon in time and be able to fire it off before anything happens does not work for me
Shaman - obvious
Maestro - was not my choice to make

Results So Far:

Polaris currently beating Mystique 7-4
Forge currently beating Rage 7-4
Shaman currently beating Tag 10-1
Maestro currently beating Tusk 11-0

Polaris
Forge
Tag (I honestly think that Tag is very much underappreciated and that he could win this match.)
Maestro

Final Results:

Polaris beat Mystique 10-4
Forge beat Rage 10-4
Shaman beat Tag 11-3
Maestro beat Tusk 14-0

LOCATION: Transia

Transia is a fictional European country on the Earth of the Marvel Universe. It is located between Transylvania, Romania and Yugoslavia. More than 90% of its people live in one large town (East Transia) and a number of smaller villages located at the base of Mount Wundagore.
Tranisa was a former section of Wallachia before that country integrated with Moldavia in 1857 to form Romania. Transia broke with the two larger countries and established its status as an independent state, and was recognized 20 years later as an autonomous, neutral nation. Transia is governed by an elected official (burgomeister) who is bound by law to follow the country's constitution to the letter. The nation's main source of income comes from the uranium found in and around Mt. Wundagore -- Herbert Edgar Wyndham funded a national non-profit trust with the money gathered from his uranium mine that still provides money for Transia to operate its government programs, and thus they have no need of outside investors or a tourist market. This, along with the (intentionally-fostered) negative international image, keeps many foreigners out of Transia.
Transia (and/or Mt. Wundagore) is where Chthon is imprisoned, and was where the men of the Russoff line were afflicted with the curse of lycanthropy. It was also the birthplace of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, and of Jessica Drew. It was the base of operations for the High Evolutionary, and the source of the "radioactive clay" used by the Puppet Master.

SIDENOTE: People inhabit the village; but, you can expect them to be hiding in their dwellings. Mt. Wundagore is not off-limits; but, the High Evolutionary's base is not there any longer. Neither is the radioactive clay that the Puppet Master uses.

Pulsar vs Puma
We've got an experienced former leader of the Avengers, as well as the leader of her own new squad, Nextwave going up against what is essentially, a street level character. Puma's been almost killed by the Hobgoblin and was beaten by Wolverine. He's a great character with a lot going for him, but he's sadly outmatched.

He's faced the Avengers before, so Pulsar will be able to look up information on what he's capable of. She'll know that getting to close would be a mistake, although if need be, she can handle herself quite readily in hand-to-hand combat. It's hit and run tactics all over again and she lures Puma out and pummels him with her powers, and she's quite a bit more powerful than most would give her credit for.

She can do this. You know it, and Puma knows it too. If he doesn't, he'll find out while getting his ass beat.

WINNER=PULSAR

Match 5:

Skin (JEWISHHOBBIT) bio

vs.

Vidar (AHURA MAZDA) bio

You may be asking who is Vidar, is he just an average Asgardian, which in itself would be enough to defeat someone who has 6 extra feet of skin, with no super strength and no super speed. Therefore, if he was facing an average Asgardian he would be overpowered by someone he could not hurt. But of course, Vidar is no average Asgardian. His father was Odin and his mother Solveig, a giant.

Vidar is a half-giant standing 10 ft tall. The only Asgardians more powerful then him are Thor and Odin. Vidar would search for Skin and as soon as they engage in battle, Vidar could use his staff to knock Skin out or simply crush him. Of course, Vidar, as the noble god he is, would ask himself what was this mutant thinking, attacking a being as powerful as himself.

Winner - Vidar

Match 6:

Hogun (AHURA MAZDA) bio

vs.

Wasp (MIDNIGHT ICE) bio

Hogun is an Asgardian with class 30 strength. He also has Asgardian resistance to damage. Wasp's stings would be exactly that a sting, nothing more. Hogun with his reflexes could crush her using his mace. even a glancing blow would be enough. Hogun is a warrior with thousands of years experience and great military expertise. Wasp is a founding Avenger but she is no match for an Asgardian one on one.

Winner - Hogun

Rachel Grey VS Piledriver

Rachel-summers-phoenix.gif

Yaay my first walkover!

Ok, don't have time for rebuttals today as i'm out of town but I thought I'd put in my opening argument

This really is no contest, piledriver is immune to most physical injuries having a physiology similar to an asgardian god but his one weak spot is his mind. He has no natural defences against psychic attacks. With access to the x-men's info rachel would know this so she'd be going all out. There is no-where to hide from a psychic (especially one in possesion of (albeit slightly dliluted) the phoenix force (i assume she has this still, if not she's still an incredibly acomplished psychic anyway). Rachel would first cloud his perceptions to make her invisible to piledriver. Then all she has to do is hit him with a few good psi-blasts and he'd be out for the count. IF he could get close enough to hit her during this time she has the capacity to create a forcefield to protect her from any physical blows anyway.

Easy takedown

WINNER: RACHEL SUMMERS/GREY
