Because it could help out for Batman because, once people see Man-Bat and the fact that Batman is still the hero, they would think Man-Bat killed those people in TDK and not Batman (really Two-Face).

But I dunno, could that work in Nolan's vision? And how would he look?

Uhhh, let me think for a sec....

NO!

I know Nolan dabbles in sci-fi elements but they are restricted to mechanical things and technology. I don't see him going the path of human physiology sci-fi in this series. The only way I can see it working is if Langstrom has equipment that gives him bat-like powers and abilities which would make him too similar to Batman. So no I don't think it would work.

Wait a second guys...instead of just blurting out a negative response, lets open our minds a little and actually consider if it is something that could work.
After much consideration, I have decided that it would be a ridiculously stupid idea, so no.

I'll give you a explanation that tries to be as realistic as possible.

A man working for Wayne Enterprise who works with the Gotham Zoo, which Bruce Wayne likes to personal fund. So when Fox starts building a Molecule Emulator the man accidentally goes in to be the personal ginnie pig for the machine, when a bat accidentally gets in. (Kinda like The Fly) over the course of the film the man progressively changes into more and more until the films climax when hes a full fledged giant bat. So Gotham is blaming Batman for Man-Bat's actions, so now Batman must stop Man-Bat before he kills again.

Please GOD NO!!!

They could. It would just require a lot of needless exposition to work him in.

I would definitely not want him to be in Nolan's universe...

However i hope the next batman franchise reboot, after Nolan's (please god) third... in 10-20 years time... will be more fantasy based.

On a Batman: The Animated Series level... these characters can at least be a possibility then.

It wouldn't need to be a reboot, just a continuation of the franchise after Nolan finishes the films. I am sure if they found a good director and some talented writers, there wouldn't be much of an issue.

I was just thinking about this the other day.

And I'm still thinking about it...

He could...

But a transformation from man to bat-like creature over a matter of minutes doesn't fit with the realistic vibe they've got going. Man-Bat would have to be langstrom's kid, a chimera from birth. It would be a very different kind of movie, about the darkness of the human heart with the purity of youth... on that note, an interesting time to introduce Grayson. After what we've seen, a half-human monster, especially if genetically engineered that way, isn't outside the realm of "possibility" but the transformation sequence is a complete no-go.

The only Batman villain that I can't figure out to make work is full powered Clayface. The dynamic shapeshifting is obviously out of the question, but without it, he's just an arbitrary mud monster. Sandman lite, in fact.

Everyone else, from Man-Bat to Killer Croc to Mister Freeze can be done realistically, even if they aren't worthy of being the central villain.
