Crank 2: High Voltage

So, the image quality of this film? How is it? I know the majority of this film was filmed on cheap $1000 handheld cameras and then corrected later in post? How's it actually look? I'll definatly be going to see this and check it out myself.

Looks pro.

You know. Except for the fact there's a cut every 5 seconds. :o It's clean though. Trippy as f**k.

Well I know there's just a lot of action and those camera's got beat the crap out of, but speaking tech-talk here, I want to see how this film looks on screne because there could be a whole new movement in using $1000 camera's to film a movie and correct it cheaply to have a professional look to it. From the Trailer I've see, the image quality looks good. It doesn't look like actual 'film', but it doesn't look DTV or TV quality either.

It looked amazing. Really. Everything had a nicer feel to it. It's like the first one with upgraded graphics. :o The last place where all the **** goes down, the ocean or whatever it was and stuff looked beautiful.

in the rated version of the trailer, there's a 'porn like shot' of a naked woman suntanning and you can see her rear..porn style. Is that still in the movie?

So guys, was THIS in the movie?

I saw this yesterday,
it was hilarious!!

some of the stuff in this is just outrageous!

And what the hell was Corey Haim doing with a mullet?!!

I guess the next one is bound to be even more crazier!

well worth every penny, The Statham is a legend!

:woot:

My non-spoiler review

The movie wasn't as good as the first one, but it was friggen hilarious (as everyone has been saying). The action was good too. There are a lot of "Oh s##t...AHAHAHAHA" moments throught the movie.

I kinda wish they had toned it down a bit though with the "outragous"ness. I'm a total boob man...but if the next one is going to one-up this one...i think it'll have to be a porno. I'm not a prude by any means...but there were just too many steady cam to crotch and t*ts shots. It was funny at first, but they do it throughout the entire friggen movie all the time.

The ending also screamed "we've run out of ideas!"

Overall...it was fun enough, but not one I'll be adding to my collection like the first one.

****ing mother ****ing CHELIOS! This movie rules....but I didnt get as much of a rush as I do with Crank....

Chev Chelios is the F'ing MAN!!! I loved the hell out of this flick, THIS is how you do "over the top" dammit. I loved how it was as otherworldish reality as something like Sin City or Grand Theft Auto, Chev is as every bit as cool as Marv for the punishment he does in this flick. And the TV show flashback of young Chev and his ****ty Mom, LOL! The music was great! Loved the finale, especially the "Keep on Loving You" kiss.

I had my issues with early footage, but in final editing and clean up, it looked pretty cool. But it's not taking place in this reality.

As good as the first, just turned up to 13!

9.5/10

Chev Chelios is so awesome there aren't many words to describe his awesomeness. Easily Statham's coolest character.

Word.

I think I might try to make an oversized Chev Chelios mask now!

*SPOILER*

i felt this movie had a lot going for it up until the ending...and by that i don't mean him being on fire, i'm talking about how it just kind of ends. it made sense for the first movie to just end because it was suppossed to be abrupt ands shocking. at this point everybody already is wondering if its going to end the same way or not (which it does in a sense even tho its not as unbeliavable as the first ones end), but if somehow something unexpected happened than it woul dhave left people with the same feeling as the first where, in the case of 2's end, they really don't leave much to the mind for people who would want to see a 3rd past he isnt' going to look at all the same

i thoroughly enjoyed this movie though. i will definetly be getting this one because it was too damn good, even tho it doesn't outdo the first ones story. i think the firs tmovie had a tad more style, where as this one was a follow-up. still good tho. definetly played out more like a video game with certain aspects of what happens near the end, lol

Well, after a day to sober up, I should say that this isn't a film for everyone (and maybe giving it a 9.5/10 is a crazy too, but I'll let it stand). If you had issues with the first film, this one is a bit worse in those "reality" aspects. The two friends I seen it with had a blast, but I don't think anyone expected high art. Hell, I know my GF probably wouldn't care for it.

Hell, just the part with [BLACKOUT]Ricky Veronas head being kept alive[/BLACKOUT] might be too stupid for some people to take. Same with David Carradines cameo.

This is the only part of the movie I didn't like. All the other "surreal" elements were great and kept to the Crank-like universe, but this moment was just out of place if you ask me. And it was completely pointless since [blackout]he just throws the head away anyway[/blackout].

Anyways, I loved Crank 2. Crank is one of my favourite action films and just all around awesome ass-kicking movies of all time, and I wasn't disappointed with Crank 2. I liked in Crank how it was all crazy but it still had a grounded real-world feel, but that's all out the window with Crank 2. It's clearly a totally out there weird ass surreal environment; they pulled out all the stops.

They got a little too over carried away with subplots, but that's because they had an obsession with bringing back every character from the first film. The simplicity of Crank is one of the best things about it....he's on a mission to kill the guys who "killed" him. Crank 2 has way more going on with other characters.

All in all I still loved it and laughed my ass off all the way through. Can't wait for Crank 3.

Damn, looks like it didn't even clear the top 5. That is kinda sad...

Actually, if all kinda weaved together for me. Ricky was kept alive because in the Crank-verse, with enough money, you live. I just liked how it was a old school cheesy animatronic head flating in the tank, especially the garbled "fff*****kkk yooouu Cheliiiiooooosss!!!"

I'm just curious if they will still go ahead with this series, especially since it didn't set the box office on fire this time around.

My God, was this movie awesome.

Huge kudos to the crew that worked with this movie because between the photography, editing, music, everything, it was gorgeous. Jeez. This movie gets a 9/10 from me. Perhaps not a 9/10 on a general scale only because the movie is in a genre of its own, I couldn't really compare it to any other movie other than Crank and itself. I suppose generally, I'd give it a 7.5/10 and average it to a 8/10.

It was the epitome of the exploitation octane action genre. It truly deserves merit for what it did and it did it very well, IMO.
