Dead character returning in flashback for the season finale....
The Vampire Diaries Revives Aunt Jenna – But There's a Twist!
by Megan Masters

Aunt Jenna will celebrate her one-year deathiversary with a surprise return to The Vampire Diaries, when, in the Season 3 finale (airing May 10), Sara Canning reprises the fan fave role.
But how will they bring Mystic Falls’ dearly departed denizen back to life?

As first reported by our friends at Zap2it, Jenna won’t be revived via the CW saga’s signature witchery or otherworldly means, but rather through a series of flashbacks that examine Elena’s life before her parents’ untimely death.

Since her Vampire Diaries departure last year, Canning has enjoyed a sexy turn on Supernatural and starred in the Lifetime original movie The Hunt for the I-5 Killer.

Makes up for her not showing up as a ghost.

I like what they're doing with the whole vampire bloodline thing concerning the Originals.

That was about the only really interesting part of the episode. But I am tired of the back and forth with trying to kill Klaus and the originals. Its old already. How many times are they going to try to kill him only to fail and have him threaten to kill everyone they love? I cant take it anymore.

They definitely need a new bad guy for next Season & to finally kill the originals in the Finale

I really don't see the big deal about them planning to kill Klaus. It's not like they make an attempt on his life every other episode. This only the third time they've tried something like that, after the sacrifice last season and the plan with Mikael.

Has anyone noticed recently that when a vampire cries that it's not blood.

Well, this isn't True Blood....

Its seems like it happens to often. Or maybe its just that Klaus is around them to much to threaten to kill one of them so they back off until they find something that can kill him only to have it screw up.

I think that may be one of the negative aspects of adding Joseph Morgan to the main cast (great as he may be). Now they have to continually find ways to keep him around, even though he's their biggest threat.

Still, though, I think I'd prefer that to him eventually getting the Spike treatment and becoming a part of the group.

Its already hard enough having the Salvatore brothers as part of the group so he def. wouldnt work. But that is why you dont have your main characters interact with the big bad as often as they do in this show. Should've found some lesser minions of his to do the dirty work and threaten the fang gang 2.0.

I think the problem that most people have with this is that what seems to happen is while they aren't always trying to kill Klaus, that seems to be what the majority of what they at least talk about falls back to. Either what a problem Klaus is or how they need to kill him, etc. It's getting repetitive to the point of annoying a lot of fans.

well it looks like they wont be trying to kill him for the foreseeable future. not until they can determine which bloodline they belong to anyway. plus stefan pretty much admitted that there's really no point in trying to kill klaus anymore.

The latest twist about the bloodline makes things interesting. At this point, I think the most annoying character of the show is Elena. She tends to screw up a lot of the plans...

I really hope this season's final episodes match last season. The last three episodes of last season were like a grand-scale event.

Season Finale "The Departed" description:
K-Site TV:
THE SECRET HERO — Determined to protect his sister, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) makes a decision that will change everything. In the harsh reality of the present situation, Elena (Nina Dobrev) longs for simpler times when her parents, Grayson (guest star Jason MacDonald) and Miranda (guest star Erin Beute), and Aunt Jenna (guest star Sara Canning) were still alive and her biggest concern was her relationship with Matt (Zach Roerig). Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) leave Mystic Falls together on a mission, but soon split up when Elena needs one of them. Caroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) are forced to make a life-changing decision. Finally, Bonnie (Kat Graham) makes a secret deal that has heartbreaking consequences. John Behring directed the episode with story by Brett Matthews & Elisabeth R. Finch and teleplay by Julie Plec (#322).
Sounds potentially brutal and heartbreaking. Surprised to see no mention of a single Original.

Lol of course Bonnie would make a secret deal with consequences. The only family member she still has left alive is her dad, what more can she lose? Her powers? Then she will be made even more useless then she is now.

Her dad isn't a vital enough character for the writers to even make a big deal about something bad happening to him. I mean, ****, the guy hasn't even shown up on screen.

WHAAAAAAAA?! So what the hell happened to [blackout]Rebekah[/blackout]?!

Shoulda figured something like that was coming. When they linked hands and Esther just keeled over, I was like "That's it?" This is very pleasing.

I really liked the Esther/Rebekah twist.

So Alaric will be full on dark side (vampire hating) now?
