What comments?

he was joking about Bret Ratner, calling him "you didn't do anything with the previous films, son of a ...." and then, "well, we can shot now" hahah

was funny to heard it.

You don't need to ask :yay:

Just put the C2 in your signature....that's pretty much all it consists of....unless the others have been holding out on me.

Such a bittersweet scene.

Everything that happens in that scene is brilliant. But, the dialogue, and the impending doom, aren't brilliant.

It is, in one scene, everything that is right, and everything that is wrong, with the movie. It's the entire movie in a nutshell; so right, yet so wrong

You know, sometimes I really wonder about Fox in general. How can they neglect Marsden over Hugh Jackman?
And why can´t you just praise your adored Marsden without trying to trash Hugh? :whatever:
Hugh is a wonderful actor and did a wonderful job as Wolverine, so leave him out of this thread if you´re only going to bash him.
You don´t see this kind of thing happening in the Hugh/Wolverine thread. I´ve never seen people bashing other actors or characters there. It´s totally uncalled for.

Oh stop whining. I didn't bash Hugh at all. I acknowledge Hugh's talent as an actor and have heard he's quite the nice guy. I'm merely questioning why they didn't give Marsden a chance and just hyped up Hugh.

Again, this is the problem with people like you. You come in and anyone who is merely asking a question, you get defensive and feel people are trashing on Hugh. NO ONE IS TRASHING ON HUGH. They just overhyped Wolverine and basically made what was to be an all-star movie and changed it into a one-two star film.

It's because of fans like you we get a film where one person is the main star and the other suffers. This is why films like Spider-Man, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, and Batman Begins are so much more successful than X3 will ever be. Again I'm not insulting Hugh at all, I happen to like him and think he's a cool guy.

Now please, take your non-comic book knowing mind someplace else. This thread was going along fine until you chimed in with your drivel.

Another awesome picture of Ultimate Cyclops. Does anyone have the picture of when he blasted Logan out of the window? In the end he makes a pretty cool quip saying "Your healing power is about to become of some use."

He proceeds to blast at Logan with the optic blasts while Emma and Beast look on from the window.

I know a poster recently asked for a picture of Jean/Cyclops at Alkali Lake.

I truly feel Marsden is something special. I'm not taking anything away from Hugh Jackman, however, it would've been nice to actually see Marsden prove that he has talent as well. The ending scene of X2 proves that he can definitely act and the fact that he acts without you seeing his eyes proves his talent.

I sincerely hope in the future a restart or a sequel happens which hopefully can bring back Marsden as Cyclops and have him be front and center.

Are you the owner of the thread? :whatever:
Don´t act like you didn´t know what you were doing. Why did you have to mention Hugh at all in a Cyke thread, if not to make people start bashing him and/or Wolverine?
And I read the comics, genius. I´ve said that at least a million times. The problem is you´re too full of yourself to aknowledge this.

Too bad we won't be able to get a chance of hearing Cyclops sing- James has a wonderful voice.
And I love the Ultimate Cyclops pic, his uniform looks way better than the Astonishing one, even though Astonishing X Men is one of the best X Men series.

I didn't do anything. I just asked a question as to why Fox simply overlooked Marsden and continued to make Hugh out to be the star. If you perceive that as bashing Hugh Jackman, then that's your problem. Mark my words that Hugh isn't losing any sleep over you praising him or anyone insulting him.

So you coming to his defense is making you look pretty bad.

In any case, I'm through arguing with you. This thread was coming along very nicely with some intelligent thoughts and you come in with your typical Hugh Jackman/Wolverine love. :whatever:

Well, in a sense that could be a good thing. Cyclops needs to be depicted as a very serious character and singing doesn't need to be introduced.

But James definitely has a great singing voice.

Perhaps he's like Viggo Mortensen? Viggo sings, writes poetry, paints, plays a a lot of instruments such as the guitar and the keyboards, and so forth. James is truly a talented individual who I hope continues to prosper in his career.

You will be able to hear him sing soon...he's in 2 movie musicals next year.

He's in Disney's "Enchanted," which is about a princess who gets banished to modern-day NY. And I believe that's a musical.

He's also playing Corny Collins in "Hairspray." I've seen that musical on Broadway twice...unless they've cut anything from the show, he has 2 songs. He plays the host of the dance show.

OK, no fighting, anyone. I think it's still Christmas in some parts of the world...let's just have a little peace around here too.

The reason Fox hyped up Hugh so much was because he had the more prominent role in the movie. Yes, Cyclops had the more prominent role in the comics, obviously, but the movies were more focused on Wolverine. Hugh's performance got great reviews, and it seems the majority of fans loved it (trust me, I saw him in NY a few years back and some guys were screaming "WOLVERINE!" from across the street).

James, well...didn't have much of a part once it came to X2, when I think he had barely 15 minutes of screen time. There's not much to hype there.

I think he's a really good actor...he just needs to get away from the 'other' boyfriend roles.

I just can't believe that someone out there (whoever it was) thought it'd be a good idea to kill off Cyclops, the leader of the X-Men, in a story that he was supposed to have a major role in.

I understand that Halle and Hugh are the stars, and I think it would have been completely possible to still feature them in major roles while keeping Cyclops around and giving him the role he deserved.

I love the scene of Wolverine marching up to Jean to finally destroy her (I think it's one of the most powerful, most epic, and all around best scenes in the trilogy), but even that could have been so much better had it been Cyclops.

At the very least, they should have re-worked the beginning of the movie to have Cyclops leading the team in the Danger Room. Instead of the back and forth between Wolverine and Storm, the exchange between Wolverine and Cyclops could have been in the subbasement. Back in his room, he could have had the vision of Jean, and then he could have left the mansion, either without saying anything to anyone, or having a quick talk with Xavier (to at least explain that he's being haunted by her calling out to him, and that he's not just a whiney *****). At least if it were set up like that, we could have at least seen him in uniform, leading the team, one final time before he died.

Well, Scott is not dead, he just *mysteriously* disappears. I prefer to put it that way.
As for Cyclops' role in the whole X3 movie...seriously, I really don't think these guys have any clue about each X man's character, even though they put Storm and Wolverine on the front, they still didn't capture their characters right, look what they did to Rogue.

Seeing those pictures, it's so obvious the Phoenix thing was last minute. Lol. Jean is just all over the place. Makes you kinda wonder what they would have done with a blind Jean in a third movie. LOL.

I don't think it was last minute...I mean, the biggest scene of the film uses the Phoenix premise...It's full of effects, uses almost the entire cast. I always thought the blind thing was a great way of hiding the Phoenix plot, but that it was never intended to be real. That's why we got those stills, including the one with Jean on the President's room.

Even if it was last minute, it still was better handled than the whole Phoenix plot in X3, which was there since the first day of writing...
