Is she ashamed of being a nurse? Or maybe she just wanted to be a doctor but had to settle for being a nurse? A nurse is an honourable profession though and she should be proud of that.

Or maybe she's a doctor but struck off for some reason?

We've had a complete lack of DD news recently. Well, at least since yesterday. :oldrazz:

Am I the only one who wouldn't mind if the series were sort of stand alone from the greater established MCU universe?

I just find it sort of diminishes the impact of the street-brawler level heroes when you see them interacting with guys like the Hulk or Thor or just the idea that there are so many more powerful heros.

I enjoyed Captain America so much more when he was pretty much on his own in the Winter Solider than him among the rest of the Avengers.

Definitely better if he keeps to his element but even if he interacts with heavy hitters at the end of the day he'll be the one cleaning the streets while the Avengers clean up the bigger threat.

Be fun to see Murdock defending some of the Avengers in court.

Don't need Thor swooping down to help him out. But it would be nice to know they are in the same universe. Building sites repairing the damage done in Avengers or news report on the tv would do. Even a robbery of a Stark warehouse.
But they should concentrate on DD's story, they don't need to shove it in your face.

DD could feature in a scene with the Hulk while wearing his black ninja outfit. Maybe the Kingpin blasts DD's senses with light, sound etc and Hulk rescues him. :oldrazz:

just watching d'onfrio on the panel...man, this might be the best casting marvel has ever done. i think he might be *THE* best villan in all of the MCU.

Looked up Daredevil on Netflix via my PS3 earlier, and it has it listed as being available on May 1st, 2015.

Does it make sense to release it on National Avengers Day? Would be kind of idiotic imo. OVERKILL.

Pretty subjective, whatever floats your boat I guess. He's certainly not a threat on the scale of some of the guys we've seen, but in terms of richness of character and pathos over 13 hours of story he'll probably be unmatched. I definitely think D'onfrio as Kingpin has a chance to be as iconic as Hiddleston as Loki. I'm confident Spader/Ultron will rock the paradigm when he's unleashed as well. :word:

Maybe the things that happened during AOU has repercussions on Hell's Kitchen. NYC gets screwed 3 times in the MCU (Hulk, and both Avengers) so maybe NYC needs Defending lol

Well that would certainly be ambitious and redefine the meaning of shared universe. :yay:

On the contrary, I think it enhances it more when they're juxtaposed against these larger-than-life heroes in the Avengers. One of the coolest scenes in Born Again was when the Big Three come to Hell's Kitchen during the aftermath of Nuke's rampage, and we get to see Matt and Urich describe those guys from the perspective of the common folk.

I can't wait to see D'Onofrio.

The footage sounds fantastic! And I love the proto-Daredevil suit! With this and The Flash, there are TV shows for my favorite DC and Marvel heroes! :wow:

Agreed. I love the idea of Daredevil being a street level hero who operates in the same world as Tony Stark and Cap.
I'm so excited for this series, I've started rereading some classic Daredevil stories. Anyone have any recommendations for stuff I should read?

Man Without Fear, Born Again and the Bendis/Maleev run are the ones specifically name-checked as being influential on the tone of the series.

Preciate it Keyser. I've read man without fear, I remember not liking it all that much, but I'll give it another shot. I just have never been huge on Frank Miller.
I'll definitely look into the other ones as well.

I think it is gonna be more stand alone, I'm not expecting many references to the Avengers. And I'm not so sure we will see the Defenders in an Avengers film.

The thing is not everything needs to be an obvious mention of 'oh remember the time aliens invaded' even small things like people not shocked to see a costumed hero can be used to show its part of a larger world.

You can guarantee big name references like SHIELD or Tony Stark, but yeah, don't expect it to be nearly on the level of AoS.

The thing is, SHIELD isn't a big name anymore, in what context would they be mentioned when they are believed to be disbanded and weren't known by the public anyway, and I don't think Daredevil has any powers that would attract the small Shield team to him.

So whilst I've seen people say that Coulson should show up because Shield is all about tracking potential threats and people with powers, I'm not so sure that it would be plausible for Coulson to feel the need to investigate him when he has more important things to do.

I wonder what the time line on these series is going to be?

Concurrent with the events of Phase 2 or following the events of AoU at the beginning of Phase 3?

I assume that all 4 series will happen simultaneously despite the different release dates.

Yeah not a big name anymore, but then again we don't know when this is set (I remember someone from the show saying that it takes place over a few years, and not just the flashbacks). But you have a point. Matt wouldn't exactly be a priority in terms of special interest (for now). Tho no doubt would he be somewhere in their files..... Also Loeb is involved. I expect something SHIELD-related-- not Coulson, forget him-- at one point.
