Looks like Eddie Redmayne ran at him, so there's not much he could have done anyways

I thought it was a nice moment. And I'm sure the interviewer did too.

Charlie Cox is about the same age Affleck was when he played Daredevil, and aside from Affleck's epic chin, Cox doesn't really look any more fresh faced than Affleck did back then.
He looks boyish to me..though admittedly not so much with the red glasses on

Cox has more credits under his belt than Chris Hemsworth did when he was cast as Thor. And while you seem keen to downplay his acting credits for whatever reasons, among his "semi-supporting roles" have actually been some leading parts, in the case of Stardust the leading role in a star-studded cast. And his role in "one or two episodes of TV shows" was actually a well-received part in an acclaimed HBO series that he played for about 2 seasons.
Apart from Hemsworth, everybody Marvel cast in the leading roles was far more accomplised
Stardust and 20 episodes in Broadwalk Empire are pretty much the only major roles he has under his belt

Chris Pratt?

Admittedly my perception of Chris Pratt is skewed, because even without considering his credits elsewhere he was already a god among men for me thanks to his portrayal of Andy Dwyer on Parks & Recreation.

I'm sure they have their reasons for casting Cox, so I trust Marvel. I can't think of a casting that has let me down yet

I can only think of one, and thats Benedict Cumberbatch as Strange. Charlie as Daredevil will be fine

Seeing as we haven't seen the film, it's a bit harsh to say it was bad casting. He might be absolutely brilliant as Strange.

Agreed, He must have given an audition and done well to be casted
Marvel has yet to disappoint in the casting department so I am not worried despite me being not sure about Charlie Cox

Chris Pratt?

He has had long running roles in two TV shows, both the roles well received

He had a major role in The Lego Movie and supporting roles in movies like Money Ball, Wanted, Delivery Man , 5 Years engagement so yeah, he was much more accomplished

But more importantly, he had been shown to have good comedic timing in Parks and Recreation and had showed that he can bulk up in his short role in Zero Dark Thirty, that's the major two requirement for Star Lord and he fulfilled both

Cumberbatch hasn't been casted yet, with this delay I think the ship might have sailed for him

Once the previews start rolling in the doubters will realize that adding Cox to this show was the smart choice.

Hopefully the previews start rolling in sooner rather than later *cough*likebeforeChristmassMarvel*cough*
