SO....spoilers coming

The red suit is only in the last episode for 15 minutes? That's what I read in the costume thread. That was literally the only thing I was worried about. That's really disappointing. I'm sure the show will still be excellent. But that's lame. :(

I think that was the major problem with Gotham, originally it was planned for 13 episodes and FOX loved it so much they made them do a full 23 episodes. You can tell when they had to just start pulling crap out of their ass on that show and stretching everything out so things didn't wrap up when they were supposed to and IMO it really brought down the show. DD having a clear, concise idea and endgame from the get go really benefited from it.

Think shows are learning now that you can split the shows. AOS is split. 1st half of the season was dealing with Whitehall. Second half seems to be Nu Shield and Inhumans. With an overriding story arc of Skyes powers.

Don't worry there will be (hopefully) plenty more seasons.

I understand the concern but I think it works in the context of the series as the devil persona is painstakingly built over the episodes.

Regarding the Daredevil/Gotham comparisons...

If this show had the same (terrible) writers that Gotham has, then that scene where the mob guys tell Matt's father to take a dive in the fight with Creel would have gone like this:

Mobster: Hey, Jack. How's your son?

Jack: That little devil is a pain in my ass! Haha just kidding. He's such a good, brave kid. He's going to grow up to be a man without fear!

Mobster: Good to hear. Anyway, we need you to go down in the fifth, Jack. But don't make it look too obvious. It should be okay, after all, Creel can ABSORB a lot of hits.

That coupled with the writers taking cue from Arrow in writing a love interest in a crap manner and going all kitchen sink mode with the whole Rogues Gallery list is harming Gotham more than it helps it.

Unless Heller and Cannon pull a Upstairs, Downstairs with all of the characters while aging up Bruce, Selina, Gordon, Cobblepot, Ivy and Leslie, I doubt it'll squeak up past 3 seasons let alone past next TV season should these bad habits continue further. To put it gently as possible, Daredevil left Gotham in the dust in top notch quality.

Yeah but all the other shows have to come first, right? Who knows when DD will begin production on a season 2. :(

Yep, agree with all of that. I tried really, REALLY hard to hang in there with Gotham. I watched the Electrocutioner episodes because I love Christopher Heyerdahl, but gave up shortly thereafter. It's just awful. I always roll my eyes when I hear the term "cringeworthy" thrown around on fan sites to describe damn near everything that people don't like (especially superhero movie/TV show dialogue) but Gotham is one place where that world is absolutely appropriate.

"HAY YOU GUYS THIS IS OSWALD COBBLEPOT WHO BECOMES THE PENGUIN AND JUST IN CASE YOU COULDN'T TELL THAT HE BECOMES THE PENGUIN BY THE FACT THAT HE DRESSES LIKE THE PENGUIN AND WALKS LIKE A PENGUIN, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER THAT RUNS INTO HIM TELL HIM HE LOOKS LIKE A PENGUIN IN EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. BY THE WAY, HE'S THE PENGUIN."

So, that cold calculative guy working as Kingpin's right hand man is that the Rose of the Arranger?

Do we actually know that's the case? Aren't there different production teams on each show? Couldn't Daredevil Season 2 and Iron Fist Season 1 come out at the same time?

Yeah, that is one concern I have. At this point, I don't care that much about the other shows. I want more Daredevil ASAP!

One last thing so we can #KeepItDD: Even how Montoya (and Allen repectively) has been written leaves me cold and I've been following her character since B:TAS

I just read that Foggy is played by the same kid in Mighty Ducks who played Fulton. I thought he looked familiar!

He's going to be in at least one of those other shows. But yes it is a long wait between seasons. You also have to keep the actors on retainer so they don't bugger off and get another show.

Also if all of the shows do get second seasons, will they be able to film them at the same time? Otherwise we'll have to wait another 2 years to see season 3.

F*** yeah, I hate Montoya and Crispus Allen. Talk about taking two great characters and just making them both so annoying that you hope they both get decapitated.

I need a second season. They can keep to their defenders plan and get another DD season done by this time next year. Make it happen, Marvel.

That and a ScarJo guest appearance. I have a fever and the only perscription for me is DD/BW. Its my cowbell, damn it! :woot:

That would be really cool. I'm hoping they go with the Elektra story for season 2. Then maybe a mix of Born Again and Bendis' Out story for season 3.

I love how subtle the writing and directing in this is, no 'Hey guys this is the radar Daredevil senses' or no stupid catching falling vases and glasses every second episode to keep reminding us of his superpowers

They didn't even mention the extent of his powers and their basis in the initial episode, but let it sink in by seeing in action and flashbacks over half a dozen episodes,so wonderfully done, not only does this not make the origin a burden but keeps the character interesting as you learn more and more of the back story as you go

If Drew Goddard is indeed in charge of Spidey, then he is in good hands, especially since the origin is a toxic area considering its been done twice in less than 15 years, love how it was done here

Opens with the scene of the accident, cut to a heart-felt emotional confession which establishes his relationship with his father, his motives aswell as his faith, and then we see him kicking some ass, then he wakes up in bed and we see how he is an ametuerish but honest lawyer

Amazing writing
BOOM
You find more about the character and his alter-ego in 10 minutes than most Superhero movies manage in an hour.

So John Locke helped me figure out who Stick was working with, which has huge implications for The Defenders.

I think the Stick and Stone dynamic was like that in Man Without Fear. The scene was practically a shot for shot remake without the same dialogue.

You're on point, man:

Thanks for connecting the dots for me. I thought it was Master Khan or Master Izo last night.

I guess DEFENDERS is gonna be a battle between a
DD-led The Chaste and an Elektra-led The Hand.

You know what i liked about what Mark Millar came up with Stick and Daredevil? And a certain martial arts badass?

Since the Chaste has members like Stick, Stone, Claw, etc. It also had the Daywalker himself Blade be part of that! C'mon Marvel reintroduce the Daywalker to us!

A guy can dream lol.

Just got done. This show was freaking great. They went waay further than i thought they would

Hope the other super hero tv shows and films take a long hard look at this show. Then realise that you don't have to dumb the story down, you don't have to try and cram everything in at the beginning. Good story and good characterisation with good acting goes much further than flashy sfx. Yes it has to look good but the story comes first. You don't have to have the world in danger to make the audience care, a young girl getting kidknapped can do just as well.
