Daredevil Daredevil General Discussion Thread - Part 6

So I started to finally, FINALLY, watch Daredevil. I'm only into the first episode, but man was it good. In fact, I knew it had to be a dark show, because it is Daredevil; alot of things Daredevil is best known to encounter would not drive it home if it was on regular television. But I felt it was more than that: it was a pitch black show, if anyone understands what I'm saying. I agree with those that the Marvel Netflix Shows are like the Marvel Knights of the MCU. Given I'm only one episode in, I'm gonna watch each episode per day (perfect for work and school schedules).

Good for you and welcome to the Netflix Daredevil love fest thunderdome.

So Punisher has enough enthusiasm for a Netflix series but Elektra doesn't?

I would say Punisher is an easier sell. He's a more popular, well known and established character. Also, who knows what plans they have for Elektra this season and if she will even survive?

Couldn't wait, saw the second episode. When he fought those guys to save the kid, that was awesome!!! I felt like I was there fighting those people who prey on the weak...better start training, lol

Yeah, everyone loved that fight scene. It quite possibly the most overrated fight scene in history

It was a great fight scene don't get it twisted, one of the best if not best on a TV series.

But yeah people have been bringing it up too much, to the point where some people make it sound like that was the only notable thing on the show when it certainly wasn't.

The thing that makes this scene so great for me is not only the technical aspect of it and the execution, but the story behind it and the reasons for it. It happens very early on the show, with Matt being found half-dead in a dumpster at the beginning of the episode, having made a mistake when trying to save the child.

The whole episode shows him in a very different light compared to most of the other superheroes from the MCU, it shows how vulnerable and breakable he is physically - but on the other hand it showcases his unbreakable will and spirit, never giving up on someone in need, no matter how much damage his body has taken.

All that combined with the flashbacks about his father makes for a very emotional build-up until the end of the episode where you just see how tired he becomes as the fight goes on but he never gives up and keeps fighting until he manages to take out all the bad guys and saves the child. For me, that is one of the most (if not THE most) heroic moments in the MCU as a whole and that is why I find this scene so powerful and thrilling.

I pretty much fell in love with the series after Cut Man. The first episode was decent in my view but nothing amazing but I was sold by episode 2.

I haven't finished Jessica Jones yet, but I preferred DD far more.

I'd hate to have to choose between them.

:argh: Give him a damn role in that film! Punisher too!

Hm, hearing the rumors that they might recast for IW. I think to myself ridiculous. I understand Marvel TV and film are separated by certain issues. But, not that separated. Both divisions would have to be stupid to not team up for IW.

I don't think audiences would accept a different Daredevil in the films after Cox's performance. And would they recast Kingpin as well? Who are they going to get after having the perfect Fisk in D'Onofrio?

The rumors are stemming from the fact that (what it boils down to) Charlie simply doesn't know anything at this point... and he might not know for a while. Heck, Daredevil might not even *appear* in IW. The script is still being written, the Russos are still working on what characters they need/want. I think people are blowing Charlie's innocent (and given the manner he said it, kind of joking) comments out of proportion.

Still no word on a Blu-ray/DVD release date for Season One?

It's probably before season 2 starts...at least that's what they did with House of Cards.

Hmm. Usually we get some news about what's coming up.

Only thing I can find on Amazon UK in relation to the show is a ''Marvel's Daredevil: Season One'' hardcover art book, and that's not out until June.

I heard Elektra is supposed to be in Daredevil Season 2 can't wait to see how that goes.

As long as we get another microwave to the head shot. :oldrazz:

Daredevil: Season 2 Will Have a Fight Like the Hallway Scene 'on Crack'

http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/01...-have-a-fight-like-the-hallway-scene-on-crack
DD confirmed to be even more unrealistically skilled at fighting and unrealistically resistant to pain than he was in the first season. Watch in Season 2 Matt takes on Elektra, Punisher and 100 foot ninjas, with skills like Nobu and Iron Fist got drunk and had a baby, at once with his arms tied behind his back and a gigantic clone of Kingpin with heat vision. In a cramped staircase. Notice I said Matt and not Daredevil because he not only does it with his hands tied behind his back but he doesn't have his armored costume on or weapons. So the stakes are even higher if he gets stabbed or shot. But it don't matter cause his sense of pain is still relatively miniscule. So even after being shot and stabbed 16 times he'll go find a phone and call Claire. While he sit's down and eats some Cheetos and watches the entire first season of his and Jessica Jones show while waiting for her to come over and fix him up. He's also wearing ear plugs and nose plugs restricting his two most useful senses. And he relies on his taste to somehow know where to kick. And kicks hard enough to knock everyone out in one hit.

Then just when you think you're suspension of disbelief is strained to the max. You realize that's just the first two episodes. He's fully healed by the end of the second and back out fighting and has trouble fully geared up at full health, with a common purse snatcher. Trust me, it'll be incredible.

I don't know about unrealistically skilled at fighting. One, he was trained by a blind superninja, so he should be very good at fighting. Second, far and away the bigger complaint of that scene was that it took him so long to knock them out. People (not me) felt he should have knocked them out in one punch. There were literally pages debating this issue.
